6.5 SP-10 Wait Time?

Honestly haven’t heard, but whatever it is, it’s worth the wait. Had one previously in 6.5 Creedmoor that I traded for an AI AT, and missed it so much I had to search long and hard for another. Won’t make that mistake again. Best gas gun I own currently.

I need the encouragement to keep waiting at this point myself. I’m starting to get a bit aggravated.

I ordered an sp10 and a havak both in 6.5 on feb 13th. I was quoted 1-3 months on sp10 and 1-4 months on havak.

Once it got to 3 months I started calling every other week for an update. Always same story, “waiting for stocks on sp10, you’re near top of list but we don’t know when either rifle will be built”

Fast forward to last week, talk to seekins on 6/19 to hear same as usual, “we have sp10 stocks now but we don’t know when your sp10 or havak will be on the build list”

Then on 6/21 I get an email that my havak has shipped.

So basically customer service is just placating me with the answers and not actually checking for info with the rifle builders. Had they actually checked on 6/19 surely my havak was either in assembly or at the very least was slated for build the next day for it to be shipped by 6/21.

Aggravating to say the least , but I can keep up hope every time someone says how good the sp10 is. At least I’ll have a havak to play with now to pass the time. Lol

I couldn’t help myself and I got antsy. I called Seekins to see when the rifle may be ready. I got the standard response. He did say the new Pro Comp stocks were in stock and they got a lot of orders for the Havoc. Has anyone gotten a 6.5CM SP-10 they ordered?

8-12 weeks...5 months...

It was one year start to finish when I ordered my GAP-10 during the gun rush 5 years ago. Worth it, but these wait times are pretty awesome comparatively.

Jealous rant is over now.

If you don't want the wait and you have a Cabelas nearby I see they are stocking SP10 rifles right now in 6.5 at $2600, play the 20% gift card game and that can get pretty cheap, though it would take awhile to get $2600 worth of them.

Ordered mine directly from Seekins 2 weeks ago. No projected delivery time but a nice "thank you" email from Seekins a couple days later. From what I've researched, it'll be worth the wait....

Just received shipping notification for my sp10 this afternoon. By the time it arrives I’ll have waited almost a full 6 months. Hopefully this thing lives up to the

Let us know what you think when u get it sighted in.

For what it's worth, this rifle is in stock at cabela's. I bought mine off the shelf in store, but they can also ship it to your store. I don't like how mine shoots. Also Seekins sells the large frame upper/lower receiver set with handguard included on their web site. Throw in a barrel, trigger, furniture, and bcg and you have your own custom sp10/gap-10. In theory, the upper/lower you can buy off seekin's website is what GAP uses.

Will do. Hopefully my aadmount comes in soon as well. If it does I’ll be taking it out next weekend. It’s going to have an athlon Cronus btr.

The version that cabelas is stocking is prior to their new buttstock, bcg, and switch from cmc to Timney. As for the builders kit, I don’t remember the last time it was in stock on seekins web site. I think the wait for a rifle may make it quite a while before they sell just the receivers and hand guard combo.

Also in my case I ordered mine using a 40% off cert from seekins so it was wayyyy below the cabelas price. The discount definitely made the wait easier to stomach.

Hard to argue with 40% coupon, same as I.

What do you dislike about the way it shoots?

That's one thing I've wondered about now that guns like the SP-10 and some of the GAP guns are being stocked by big stores like Cabelas and are much easier to obtain with basically no wait is if they are built with the same attention to detail as if you custom order one.

Being in manufacturing. I would imagine the same level of care goes into each. These guys are putting together guns day in and day out.

I’ll post something once I shoot it. I got 100rds of American Gunner to break in the barrel. Then I am going to shoot the Federal Bergers, the Federal Matchkings, 140gr ELDs, and the Norma’s. Hopefully it like something. My bolt rifle likes the Norma’s so it would be nice if it liked them.

I was finally able to get to the range. I ordered an American Defense scope mount, 20MOA, QD attachment. I put my Bushnell LRHSI in it. I did change the grip to an Ergo for the wider palm swell. I ride my thumb on the outside like my bolt gun too.

The rifle shot like a dream. This is my first AR and it was easy for me to pick up. Shoots well and accurate. I put 100rds of 140 American Gunner to season the barrel, action, and most importantly, me.

Next I put 10rds of each of the following through it. 130gr Federal GM Berger’s, 130gr Norma Match, 140gr Hornady ELD, 147gr ELDs. I shot one 10rd string of each through the chronograph. Below are some of my stats.

FGMB
Avg=2,675fps
SD=18
*SD=10.81

Norma’s
Avg=2,726fps
SD=9
*SD=6.45

140 ELDs
Avg=2,589fps
SD=14
*SD=9.7

147 ELDs
Avg=2,602fps
SD=18
*SD=13

The *SD is where I kicked out the highest speed and the lowest speed just in case those were flukes.

I am going with the Norma’s. I like the speed and the SD. It’s also fortunate that my bolt rifle likes them too.

Please remember this is my rifle and your rifle may not do that.

I’m definitely happy!

Update on Seekins lead times: I ordered the SP10 6.5CM on Black Friday (20% Discount) and just received shipping notification. Stoked on the short lead time - was expecting +/- 2 months.

I'm new to long range shooting and new to the forum. Been watching lots of videos and ordering equipment/accessories for this new rifle. Looking forward to some field time and learning lots here.
