Looking for anyone who has nailed down some lads with the 120gr ttsx in a 6.5cm. I have a ton of Varget and h4350 so I would like to use one of those. This load will be used for game inside abut 600 yards with the lone exception some varmint at slightly longer distances if on dictions permit.

Additionally is Barnes BC of .412 G1 I assume? Using KAC bullet flight and Hornady 4dof and both are pretty drastically different passed 300 changing from g1 to g7. Normally I would just put it on paper and true it myself but I have limited access to any distance passed 300 right now.

Loaded up some 120 gmx .060 off cause that’s about as close as I could get without magazine issues. Went from 41.9 to 44.0 of h4350. 41.9 was 2761fps and 44.0 was 2909 FPS. 44.0 shot 3/4”(5 rnd grp) with no pressure signs and an es of 6. I think I will load up a few strings of the gmx and the ttsx at 43.8, 44.0 and 44.2 and see how it shakes out.

Figured I would check back in Here for others to reference.

Worked up some rounds with the 120gr ttsx and h4350. Loaded 43.8, 44.0 and 44.2 in Norma brass. Figured I wasn’t in danger territory since my 136gr load is at 43.5gr and I just ran the 120gr gmx at 44.0 with zero pressure signs.

Well with today’s conditions I chrono’ed the gmx with 44.0 gr at 2910 on average. First 15 rounds of the 120gr ttsx gave me an average of 2959. High of 2967 and a low of 2945. Very slight primer cratering but no other pressure signs. 44.0 gave me an average of 2954 with a high of 2978 and a low of 2940. Primers were cratering pretty bad so I didn’t bother running the 44.2gr charge weight. Surprised to see the ttsx pick up over 50fps with .2 grains less powder but I’ll take it.

Took it out to 300 after a 100 yard zero and it’s directly in line with what my ballistic calculator shows. .49 mils drop to 200 and 1.1 mils drop to 300 and shot right about it just under moa. Given my simplistic reloading equipment and an off the shelf rifle, I feel like that’s plenty sufficient to take game at under 600 yards. Might poke out a bit further for a coyote though.

.050 approximately. I’m on a basic Lee press with a regular Hornady custom seating die. It’s really difficult to get it consistent so it’s anywhere from .062 to .045 off.

Dropping it in a mpa light chassis and putting a trigger tech special in next week.

Maybe it’s the Hornady die then. Done some reading and seems like people have mixed results with the Lee press. Was figuring I’ll do a press and a micro seating die at the same time so I can for sure rule out the issue.

Take a look at the K&M arbor press with LE Wilson dies before you buy. You can set it to exactly where you want, depth wise, and the concentricity is about perfect.

Plus it really isn’t that expensive.

42.0 grains of IMR 4451
Hornady brass FL sized, 3x fired, not annealed.
Fed. 210M primer
26" Criterion 6.5CM, 8 twist.
6 shots-Avg2904, high 2927, low 2895.
2.7 mils to 500 yards
72°F 1630 DA

grouped well for hunting bullet imo.

Shot both Hornady 120gmx and 120ttsx to 820 yards today. Both shot almost identical. 5.9mils drop with 1mil wind. Wind was 5mph left to right. Hit 12” plate 6 of 10 with the 4 misses being just off the edge. Would have easily been a vitals shot if it was on game. Feel pretty confident with this projectile inside of 600 with sub 10mph full value wind. I’ll be doing some varmint hunting with it and would like to get a longer shot on a coyote but at 800 yards it’s dipping down to about 500ft lbs of energy and less than 1300fps. Pretty sure solid copper won’t perform at this speeds on a game animal.
