The 6.5 cm i built is slamming the round into the face of the barrel. It feeds 120 amaxs well, but when i switched to 140 rdfs they are not getting picked up before they hit the barrel. I ran some eld x's and they were not reliable. The only fixes i can think of are to load the round shorter, or try to find a good bc round with an ogive that is real short. The rounds are loaded right around 2.800. Anybody have ideas?

Update:
the feedramps on this particular barrel are too short. I believe it is a standard .308 extension and the feedramps are just a hair too thin to pick up the long skinny ogive of the 140 class bullets, so the bullet makes contact with the barrel before being pushed into the chamber. Im in talks with the distributer to get a new extension installed.

I have had the same issue with a AR-10 6.5 Creedmoor. The solution was in two parts by my smith. One was to install a JP barrel extension and the second was to have the back of the barrel canfored. After making those modifications I was able to feed Berger 130 AR Hybrid rounds with out any problems.

Rainier arms is the distributor. They are taking it back and installing a diferent extension, even though they did not make the barrel. Really been pleasant to deal with. Super happy with them.
