I'm starting to put stuff together for my next rifle which is going to be either 6.5Creed or 260 Rem and was wondering if anyone has tried 2000MR with the 140Amax 142SMK or 139 Lapuas. H4350 is nowhere to be found and I have a pretty good supply of 2000MR so if the 2000MR works with the 6.5/260 loads it'll be one less thing to worry about. I've had excellent results with 2000MR and 168-178 bullets in a 308 but I'm thinking maybe 2000MR will be a little too fast for the 140grain bullets. I've already picked up a lb of RL17 to try it out also. Thnx

Yep. 139 scenars with 41.2 -41.8gr 2000mr shoot 1/2 moa or better for me. Start at 40gr and work up from there. You will probably hit pressure signs around 42gr or so.

It shows some promise although I haven't been playing with it myself (a friend shooting a 260 is). Also the RL17 you mentioned which I have been playing with shows me some very great promise. I found a load with it running 41.1 gr under a Lapua 139, CCI 200, in meticulously prepped Winchester brass (243 necked up) that resulted in 2800 FPS with an SD of 3 across 10 rounds. That same test group measured at .302 on the paper @100 yds. Now I'm hoping for some hot temps out to test the same load at 90° or more. If it doesn't get out of hand, I'll be switching to it from H4350.

I've been tempted to try 2000MR in my 260, just wasn't sure if it would be worth the time and effort.

I've been using H4350 in RP brass, but my primer pockets have started to give up and I'm running low on that powder. R17 in WIN 243 brass with Hornady 140 BTHP's is showing some promise really close to the same area as Assault116 posted, and seems to not be too hot in my rifle. I took some rounds to work with me last week so I could hit the range on the way home, left them in the car all day in sunny 86 degree temps (it got HOT inside the car) and they showed zero pressure signs at the range. I tried the combo in RP brass previously and was at 42gr with great accuracy, well below where I started seeing even a hint of pressure.

Awesome powder ! 2000MR is a far more available powder out my way vs's everbody's pet powder Varget or R15. So I started using this powder about 6 months ago and have had awesome sucess in .308 shooting both 155's and 168's . I'm averaging .471" groupings @ 200 meters. And to reinterate, the powder is far more available. I actually found about a month ago an 8# bottle at my LGS. So been buying 1# bottles here and there to pad my supply, and have about 12# to keep me shooting.

Thnx everyone. Seems like the 2kMR should work well with 139-142 grain bullets. Im most likely going to pick up a model 12 LRP in 260 rem and shoot the stock 26" barrel for 2k rounds or so and then get a 28". If I get reliable 2800-2825fps with no pressure signs I'll be very happy.

I have been playing around with this powder with a 6.5CM. The powder is too fast of a burn speed for the heavier 140gr bullets, but in the 130gr class, it shines. Just finished up my work load and probably going to settle on 43.7gr of 2000MR. Yesterday it shot at 2907FPS avg with a 1.4SD. I have gotten it to go faster but the bullet, powder and barrel length plateaued at around 2945FPS with multiple loads. All this is through a 20" Bartlien barrel.

130 would be plenty for me. I’m a casual shooter. I would like a 140 but 130 will do 1k with ease. I’ll find some to start with.
