6.5x47 - if building a 700, is a bushed firing pin essential?

Seems I had a 700 long ago in a 6BR, do not believe it was bushed, primers cratered but no problems.

Curious if its necessary for a small primer round?

I have been running a 6-47 for the last couple years and was going to bush it but decided against it. Yes it craters the primers but I have not had any issues what's so ever.

If I was going to go through the trouble of getting it bushed, just order a new bolt from PTG and have it installed from the start.

I ran my 6x47 for a few years unbushed and the titanium firing pin stem broke, not sure why it broke.

I sent my bolt off to GreTan and am much happier because I can tell when I hit pressure during load work up easier.

Were you doing alotta dry firing? The titanium 700 pins tend to dislike dry firing and will snap right behind the junction of the two pieces.
