As a compromise, may I suggest 6xc? A 6mm 115DTAC exhibits superior bc than non vld 6.5, greater case capacity than 243Win, longer barrel life due to improved neck / body dimension, higher velocity, less drop and drift than both, roughly speaking, fine cases and dies available, very easy to load for. However, neither shooter nor target will likely know the difference in the three. There is no major difference.
I've much experience with 6.5x47 in custom bolt and gas. Loved 'em both. Would I do it again? Yes. After a 6xc. 6m/m bullets are less expensive. Now I shoot a 6Rat, 105Amax, Ar15. More accurate, less fuss, money,......
