6 creedmoor + berger 105 VLDs = no bueno

I'm trying to work up some loads for my new Faxon 6cm barrel. I loaded some Berger 105 VLDs to try out and they will not feed from the magazine. The bullet nose hits the barrel's lock lugs and gets stuck. This doesn't happen with Hornady 108 ELDs. Anyone else have this problem? Am I doing something wrong?

Yes. Had this happen on a JP barrel. Was not able to find a solution other than to use a different bullet.

Craddock Precision makes a barrel extension to address this issue with his 6mm barrels. But that doesn’t help a barrel you already have.

I tried different COALs starting with mag length and reducing at 0.04" increments. All Bergers wouldn't feed.

My 6cm does the same thing. I had t switch to Sierra 107.

The good news is: being a 6 creed gasser, that won’t be very long.

I'm only running my 108 ELD loads to 2850. Maybe I'll get 3k through it but we'll see.
