6gt and lighter varmint bullets range day result
80 ELDVT and Sierra I think it’s 86 gr ? non-tip game King seconds bullets and 87 grain Vmax
I was using varget and mainly shot 33.5 and 33 grains of varget powder Charge:
The 80 grain ELDVT shot just fine and capable of great accuracy
The Sierra game Kings were fantastic Great accuracy.
The 87 green Vmax shot fantastic as well with great accuracy
I messed up and shot some V-max that were labeled as the ELDVT’s but the accuracy was all about the same not one hole but grouped very tightly together
I won’t pull any punches. I’m not the best shooter all the time this was done with a proof competition profile barrel mounted on a solace action. Bags, front and back.
This proof barrel and the six GT cartridge just is magic in my opinion. I’ve never had a barrel that was this accurate didn’t matter what bullet I put down the tube even with different powder charges. I could get all groups touching when I did my part I had an 18 power tango6 scope that if you really want tight tiny groups, you gotta be able to zoom in a little more on the target to hold it a little better but I thought I did pretty good with what I had.
I also shot my 6ARC that day as well with the same 6 mm bullets, but having the gas block, hit the hand guard and have a bolt face that was cut a little too deep, combined with a generous chamber job, caused headspace issues and accuracy suffered horribly so I’m not posting that
Crazy part about having the 6ARC and using ball powder lever… I was able to achieve the same velocities as the six GT with these three bullets 3,000 fps….give of take 30-40fps difference between the 6ARC AND 6GT
