I just picked up a 6mm Remington with a 10 twist- 22" shillen barrel. Was thinking of trying sierra 85 game king or 90 grain accubond bullets. Gun is a Remington 700, looking for suggestions.

4350 will work with either of those bullets. If you need brass Ive got some for sale on Gunbroker.com, $17.50/bag of 50, twice fired, annealed and tumbled with S/S. Like to add, the first 100 shots I put thru my 6mm were the 85 Sierras, 45grs IMR4350, every 5 shot group at 100yds measured 3/4".

the 6mm is a souped up .243. It's awsome. Just use the proper bullet for whatever your intended target is. you don't want your bullet blowing up in the first two inches of meat, unless that's the way you want it! I witnessed a buddy shooting an antelope at 325 yds with a .243. the 85 gr. bullet went through the left ham and still had enough momentum to cripple the right ham with the shrapnel. Of course it needed a finishing shot. this was with an XP type action in 15 inch.

I've seen bucks hit solid by .243's with no blood trail and lost deer. And this is from shots under 100yds. I wouldnt use it on deer personally. Now a 6mm rem or 6mm dasher is another animal

Jig,

Any difference in killing between a 6mm and a .243 is entirely in someone's imagination. 6mm has a bit of a better case design and about 3% more capacity. No person or animal could tell.
