Range Report 6mm Valkyrie

I'm on my 2nd barrel made for the 223 Valkyrie I neck sized up to 6mm. This is a one pass with the full length bushing die. With my 22" Krieger I'm getting 3180fps with the Hornady 75grn vmaxes. This is using 27.4 grns of H322.
My 2nd barrel I just had made is a 16.5" Krieger with a .750 diameter barrel. With this one my preliminary loads are chronoed at 3080fps with 65grn vmaxes. This particular load is using 27 grns of H322.

I've been waiting to hear some reports of someone doing this exact thing, I have allways thought that the Valkyrie or a straight 68spc necked to 6mm would be a better option than 224 diameter bullets.

Have you run any of the 105 class 6mm bullets in yours and if so what kind of performance were you seeing.

this is what I'm curious about as well. the heavier 6mm bullets

By the sounds of it I think he is mainly after varmint and predator eradication.
With the bullets and velocities he posted sounds like a coyote nightmare in a fairly compact flat shooting platform with minimal recoil.

Yep, it's a calling rifle currently. I did pull out some 105s I had sitting around but laughed when I looked at the length of the bullet compared to the case. Also this has zero freebore so I'd have to seat the bullets pretty far into the case. I might throat it for a longer bullet later but right now this is a coyote thumper.

I am running the .22 spc (5.56x42). It is pushing the 75's easily at 3000 fps, which matches my 6 creedmoor with 108s pretty well. If you are mashing your valk that heavy, i think a switch to a higher bc .224 bullet would do pretty well for you. In my experience, if you are getting 3180 out of that valk, a better bullet will make that a monster that is tough to beat with a 6mm bullet.
