I"m debating on wheter to buy a CZ 527 for a dedicated subsonic platform. Does anyone know what the heaviest bullet is that can be stuffed into a subsonic 7.62x39 and maybe some subsonic load data? Think a 180gr with like 10.5 Trailboss like the 308 will work?

thanks

Re: 7.62x39 subsonics

I am using a AR with a 16", 1x10 twist. Loading to mag lenth I could only get 9.5 grs. Trailboss compressed with a 220gr RN and 200gr SP. The 220gr was around 950 FPS. I am using Win 296 so it will cycle the AR.and is 1100 FPS. You will need at least a 1x10 twist for heavey hunting rounds. I tested several faster powders that will work for your bolt gun. You can go to a 1x8 twist and shoot Heavy SMKs for paper punching.

Win LR Mag Primer & 9.5grs Win 296. I charge and seat the bullet, one at a time, so to avoid a double charge. I have some data on faster powders that will work on bolt guns or single shot ARs.

Fritzcat,

how friggin quiet is that? What about accuracy? You've peaked my interest a lot. BTW does Trailboss not allow the AR to cycle? How about using a 180gr bullet, is the case volume still too low for Trailboss?

Re: 7.62x39 subsonics

What twist is the CZ, on othe threads guys are using 1x12 with 180gr RN. The 1x10 is barely enough to stabilize the 220 RN. The Match Boat tails are to long to stabilize with the 1x12 and 1x10. Trailboss is to fast burning to cycle the AR.
