Does anyone load these? I know you can get the ammo cheap at gun shows, but my friend wanted me to look into it for him since he doesnt load. I know the .311 bullets are the ones we want to use. But my question is the primer. I know the flash holes are not standard. Hence *holes* as the key word. Is it completely worthless to do or not. Its for his mosin nagant.

Re: 7.62x54R

I just use large rifle primers and never have a problem in work ups all the way to a stuck bolt.

I have ~ a dozen of them.

I know someone who has been gunsmithing and shooting them for 40 years. He HAS had a problem, and thought of bushing a firing pin.

One primer is the same as another for piercing:

They are all 0.027" thick.

What I like is Sierra 180 gr #2310 spire bullets and Lapua brass, pushed to 2800 fps with 29" barrel.

Watch out of smaller chamber and bore in M39s.
