been reading here awhile and this is my first post.

my ltr shoots clover leaf groups and 100yds but at 200 it's all over the place. this was shooting fed gmm.
scope is a burris tac 30 3-10 in burris sig rings on a warne base.

any ideas why the big difference?

i thought it may be me, but i picked up my savage 10bass and shot a quarter size group at 200yds.

Re: 700 ltr accurcy

Could be a couple things - What scope power is on your Savage your shooting bugholes with? One thing is the 10X scope - its hard to pinpoint a fine aiming point at 200 on a target. Aim small miss small! Try putting a stronger scope on it.

Another might be the ammo - but I would bounce a scope and give it a go first.

Re: 700 ltr accurcy

I would try different ammo. My ltr does not like fgmm at distance either, but shoots it .5MOA at 100yards. I switched to horndady TAP 168 AMAX. It went from .5MOA to about .7MOA but will hold that accuracy out to 600 yards. Its also cheaper im getting it for 20.00 a box from my dealer. Makes a good hunting round too.

A few boxes of different ammo would be you cheapest route for ruling things out.

Re: 700 ltr accurcy

That is strange. Ammo is the quickest fix but just for fun why not have somebody else shoot a group or two with your rifle just to make sure it's not you. She may be a one hole at 100 instead of 1/2 moa. No disrespect intended.Jeff

Re: 700 ltr accurcy

the savage is a 6.5-20 so yeah i double my zoom. i thought that i'd like this burris 3.5-10 tac30 scope but I'm changing my mind.

winchester .308 match shot great too, but they discontinued it.
