Rifle Scopes 700p scope rings

Good Day Gents,

I have recently purchaced a Rem 700p in 338lap. I have a Mk4 20moa picatinny base and Mk4 high rings. The high rings were suggested for a 6.5-20X50 Leupold, however it looks like I could drive a frieght train underneath that scope... Is anyone running a similar setup? If so are you running Med rings.

Hey mate

I just picked up my Remington 700p from the gunsmith today as it was having issues scratching brass.

Anyways, today i had a nightforce NXS 5.5 - 22 x 56 scope fitted, with nightforce 1" high rings on a NF 20 moa picatiny rail.

Im a small guy about 5'9" and for me even with these rings my face sits a tiny bit under the eye relief! Lets not forget nightforce also offer these rings in 1.2" and 1.4" or something like that...

I hope that when i add my AICS chasis in the future i have enough room to actually see the scope as i hear the adjustable cheekpiece raises the cheekweld a little bit.

So yeh, If i were you and the scope is sitting that high, you could always go for some smaller rings

Thanks for the input.
I spotted the scope ring thread in the stickys, feel a little silly now. After finding the measurments for the med rings they will work fine.

Where in OZ are you. Darwin NT here.

Im from Victoria.
Good thing about vic is thats its fairly green so if your into your hunting we get Sambar and Red deer over here.

Il post up some pics of the 700P with the NF 56mm on so you can see the barrel clearance with 1" rings. Again, these are NF rings, so not sure how to Loopy rings compare but if the height is the same should be a good guide.

Only issue im having thus far is that the stock bolt handle comes close to the scope... being a NF smashing your hand against the mag adjustment can hurt a little. This problem will hopefully be solved with a bigger tactical bolt knob.

Tadge, how do she shoot? I cant imagine shooting a .338 lapua mag without a muzzle break

I originally had a 700P .308 with a Millet 0 MOA base, MK4 4.5-14x50 and MK4 MEDIUM rings but with the 20 MOA base not sure if it'd touch on the front end... Can you take it to your local gun shop and test them out?
