I think it’s worth more points to abuse the elderly when not on the clock- more edgy more “sheepdog”.

I love the part when the old man said “he falsely accused me of having expired tabs , he don’t know his ass from a home in the dirt”
And the other cop tells him to shut his mouth and not talk about their fellow deputies that way “act professional “ he talks him .

And they tried hard not to arrest their fellow gang memeber - 25 minutes and 14 officers from 3 agencies. To decide that beating up an old man over a parking spot is probably a crime

I’ll be interested to hear the conclusion on this one - likes like in their AO elderly abuse can carry a 15 year sentence.

Other states should adopt this solely to protect the elderly from abuse by road pirates

Somebody needs to make it a proper federal law to make these Uniform Hangers understand that when they are "off duty" and "out of uniform" they have NO special rights privileges or anything. They can't use their supposed status as "law enforcement" to continue being thugs and bastards to their fellow citizens and have ANY cover for doing so. They must be treated exactly the same as everybody else.

Of course getting Uniform Hangers to arrest their own is pretty hard.

But if you threaten them that it means instantly losing "but my paycheck" and "but my pension" then they might be willing to do what they are supposed to.

I'd like some laws where they can't do it in uniform either. Protection for use of guns against criminals must be equal for both police and citizens.

Not sure about the rest of the Country, but in Rhode Island, assault on a person 60 years of age or older is a felony charge. The specific penalties and classification as a felony depend on the severity of the injury, with potential jail time ranging from a minimum of two years to a maximum of 20 years, as well as fines and other penalties like community service.

Although the police probably would be treated special.
