7mm-08 AI Action Length Question

Thinking of building a 7mm-08 AI on a Rem SA I have kicking around.
While researching twist rates, I read that the AI needs a longer action.
Is this true? Suggestions would be appreciated!

I always thought the "Ackley" improvement was just bumping out the shoulder to a sharper angle? Not sure why you'd need to go from a short action to long action.

Maybe they meant the 7-08ai would benefit from a faster twist and longer barrel to take best advantage of heavier bullets.

AI has the same case length
Just a blown out body and shoulder.
With 160-170 bullets a SA is totally doable.
1-9 is plenty for most bullets appropriate for a 7-08

Cool. I always thought it was a SA cartridge. I'm not building a PRS rifle, just a mid- range hunting rig.

I have a 7SAW and shoot 16x and 18x class bullets from a 2.955 COAL accurate mag without binder plate

You'll be more than fine with a 708AI short action without anything you'd reasonably put in that case
