7mm-300 Win Mag Thoughts

Has anybody reloaded for this round? if so, what are you running and what velocities are you getting?

I am looking for ELR rounds without getting too ridiculous.

something i will build after i get done with my 260 rem.

I occasionally shoot with a guy who has one, I think he is getting about 3100 ft/sec with Berger 180's.

Also take a look at 7-300 Norma Magnum. I wouldn't put it in the realms of "ridiculous" but it'll throw the 195s at a respectable pace.

You should get right around 3050 fps with a berger 210 vld's. i shoot both 210's and 230's out of my 300wm.

The Long Range Shooters of Utah have a couple of videos on their YouTube page about the 7mm-300wm. I briefly looked into building one, but I've settled on a mk248mod1 chambered 300WM in a CIP length chassis. There's not much ELR distance shooting near me and I prefer a bigger hole in any soft targets I might shoot with it.

i watched the long range shooters of utah videos and that is where i am getting the idea from. i was playing with numbers last night and it could get me out to about 1500 pretty easy but then it would get tricky. they are running some extreme ELR matches here in texas that are coming up. i wont be able to go to these first ones but thought it would be pretty sweet to have something go out to a mile.
