I have a Tikka action laying around with a magnum bolt face and I’m tossing around ideas for a hunting rifle, has anyone tried the 7mm LRM on a Tikka, I am curious if the action would be to short. I may end up just doing a .300 wsm as a long action if length is an issue with the bigger 7mm’s

    thanks

whats coal for 7lrm? red snake has dbm for t3 that can go 3.5"

searched a little: Gunwerks just gave me their data for 180 hybrid. H1000, 70.5 grains, fed 215, OAL 3.430"

at least with the RS DBM, doable, and I have a tikka at home I might want to tinker with. got me thinking now.

Oh my. A 7 LRM in a Tikka? That sounds salty!

From some basic looking I've done, it looks like an OAL of 3.43 with Berger 180s is realistic with 7 LRM without intruding on powder capacity too much. I don't know about the 195s.

You can buy factory brass from Gunwerks, pretty sure it's made by Hornady. It's properly head stamped and formed. You could also make your own from .375 Ruger brass.

Sorry, you asked about the LRH, my reply was based on the LRM. I'm not sure if you can buy LRH factory brass.

I was probably the first guy to have a 30-375R so I am well acquainted with 375R brass and I know about the LRM, just wanting a bit more oomph.

Yeah, LRH is what I'm inquiring about.

I don't think the LRH is a common wildcat. I think SwampLord from longrangehunting.com and the fire designed it, not sure what a guy would need to do to get a reamer or dies. It's basically a 7mm/300 Norma improved.
