I've been browsing and reading and searching over the last month or so trying to decide on what I want to build for my next rifle.

I've narrowed it down to the 7MM mag cartridge, a heavy barrel of some brand (haven't looked into that yet), suppressor and I really like the KRG Whiskey 3 chassis.

There are some other stocks that I've seen that I like as well but I can't remember them. BUT I have yet to see one that supports the Tikka T3 with magnum rounds.

Have I just overlooked them or does nobody make a stock for the T3's? I don't care if it has a DBM or if it's single shot but a DBM is always a plus.

I have fondled a T3 chambered in .270 and I really liked it but I want an adjustable stock instead of the factory one.

I have a Remington 710 and I absolutely hate it. It just collects dust so I have my issues with Remington...

Trying to build for $1500-2000 + can. I already have the glass.

What would you guys suggest?

manners, McMillan, grs, etc... make tikka stocks.

CDI has LA Bottom metal for LA and when purchased will modify tikka inlet stocks for 60 more bucks I think to take AICS LA Magazines

the chassis, is a diff story, even one mentioned above by s&l 308 requires someone to modify trigger housing.

thought about getting 7WSM or 7RSAUM? also, check out the XLR element, lots cheaper and a folder too, tikka should be avail soon, but like krg, only in sa. with WSM or RSAUM you could run the accurate mags in a chassis.

1500-2k doable if in xlr. 600 chassis, 400 used t3, 600 barrel fitted and chambered to t3 in wsm or saum. krg a bit more if you go folder

best of luck.

If you are looking at tikka definitely do a short magnum of some sort. It's not the easiest action to do long cartridges. It's a much better action than the remington but for long action calibers the 700 is going to be easier

Mdt chassis make them for T3 LA.

Sendt fra min GT-I9300 med Tapatalk

I've looked at them but I don't like the way AR15 crap looks. If it didn't have to use an AR buttstock I would be more likely to consider them.

I guess I'm going to have to go with a 700 as much as I don't want to.

The main thing I'm worried about is an adjustable cheek piece and LOP. I have some long arms.

Will the CDI DBM work with the 7mm mag? I'm pretty sure I read it will work with 300 mag so it should fit. I'm guessing just about any of the fiberglass/wood stocks can be made to fit the CDI DBM?

Also, I saw a chassis a while back that was basically a big chunk of aluminum in an L shape with a grip on it. But I can't remember who made it. It was a small name company.

And I'm pretty set on 7mm mag. It's just the next round I want lol. I'm looking to build something that will reach out to 12-1500 yards.

Remington 710 is junk. Get a Remington 700 and a barrel and send them to Long Rifles for their group buy if you're cost conscious, or send to GAP for a gun of a lifetime

I figured out the 710 is garbage. It was the mistake of an 18 year old buying his first bolt action rifle.

I guess I'll have to save the Tikka for another build in the future with a short round.

There's a recent thread about tikka cdi dbm and a 300win in this section and it has taken the user a while to get it working and it doesn't sound like it's 100%. I'm thinking of doing another lighter barrel for my 6.5 creed tikka in 6.5x284 but only as a single shot. The action just isn't long enough for a decent long action caliber in a repeater. tikka is amazing for the short action stuff though. almost no need to true and barrel swaps are easy as well as an amazing trigger out of the box. not to mention the butter smooth cycling.
