700 long action with 7mm rem mag chambering. What 338 caliber can I make it to without alot of hassle? Is the 338wm it or can I do rum as well? I think it's a .002 difference with the rum being slightly bigger. Does this matter and is it an easy fix to get a RUM. Thanks guys. Later

You can go with a 330 Dakota with a little opening, a 338RUM, a 338 Edge, or even a 338 Lapua if you wanted to open the bolt up and install a different extractor. You can do all of the above except the Lapua without to much trouble.

The RUM is an easy fix, I had a 7RM action rebarreled to a 300RUM and I believe the smith just had to massage the feed rails a bit along with changing the mag box and follower.
