Looks to be a sporterized military rifle---how do I tell what model it is for re-barreling and re-stocking??
Need a source for scope mount also and possibly a trigger.

Here's one solution for the bases. With this base you don't have to file the charging clip bump flat. It'll work if it is filed.

You also drill a hole in the base, if the holes don't match this one.

mausers tend to have a hard, thin exterior "shell" with soft metal underneath. so be careful not to strip threads. And Spanish mausers tend to be a much poorer quality steel than belgian, german, czech, or even yugo ones. The turks received some of their 98s from germany, but also made some themselves, so hit or miss there, but generally ok.
