80 grain SMK

In a typical 20" competition AR Service Rifle, that seating depth will depend partly on the individual barrel and partly on the reamer design that cuts the chamber. With that said, in the service rifle, the SMK 80 is very popular for the 600 yard slow prone stage since it can be single fed and is a good alternative against wind.

Starting by finding the light jam distance and backing off about 0.005" and going in steps of about five to seven mils, you will generally find a node within the first thirty to forty mils or less, then another one about thirty to forty mils deeper than the first one.

I also use it in typical 7 twist bolt guns with long Palma profile bbls, and those can run well with jam or jump as well.

So that bullet does well in jam or jump as required. YMMV

Thanks for the information. They sound pretty Jump tolerant, which is a bonus. I’ll report back how they shoot for me. I will be shooting them out of a bartlein left hand gain twist barrel 7.5-6.75 twist chambered in 22 dasher.
