I was never scared or sad on 9/11 or after. It's a tragedy of course, but all I ever felt about it is pure fucking hatred.

Is anyone not clear on why the crusades happened?

The first time I was at the Pentagon Memorial about four years ago, it was raining, and it hit me like a Ton of bricks. I cried like a little baby. I was working operating a backhoe when we got sent home. I had to drive my motorcycle past the gate entrance of FE Warren Air Force Base. I knew something was up because the line of cars to get back on base was three or 4 miles long.
I’ve been to New York City. I’ve been to the twin towers memorial. It is beautiful. But that whole city is a lost cause. And it is sad because of the history.

Retired in '06 and have only been back to the city 4 or 5 times bought a farm 180 miles north, I'm happy. It's sad to see what it has become but when it hits the fan they will starve, turn on each other like the plague.

Moors changed the bloodline when they invaded Sicily , Sicily were people with pale skin, blue eyes and blond hair. When the Moors got done fucking everyone people of Sicily had dark skin ,brown eyes and black hair .

A time line of the Muslim conquest makes it abundantly clear that the First Crusade was a reaction to Muslim aggression. The rest of them were shit-shows and Crusades for fun and profit.
Something a lot of folks don't quite get is that if a couple of decisive battles close call battles had gone the other way, or certain defenders of the faith had not given it their all, most of the world except for possibly China and some of Asia / Africa would be Muslim about now.
Europe was a lot closer to being overrun and ruled by Muslims than people today want to admit.

I spent a couple years around New Paltz area. Really beautiful especially in the spring when the apple orchards bloom.
You really got to specify when exactly you are talking about, as your general statement pretty much like fits most of the history of Jerusalem for the past 3000 years or so, give or take the brief times when all sides ran out of people to fight and had to go breed some more children to continue the killing.

I was waiting for the Bde. CSM inspection in Class A's, only time I ever wore 'em, before graduating infantry school and walking the parade field at Ft. Benning the following day. The inspection never happened. Our DS conducted a quick one just so we didn't get all dressed up for nothing. They rolled a TV in the barracks in time to see the second plane hit live. First TV I'd seen since MEPS I think.
Some of the guys were from NY. One, his mother worked there. He was freaking out and some of them thought this was some kind of final test and I had to convince them that Dan Rather doesn't do shit like that for the army. It was surreal.
Everything got locked down, MP's with dogs everywhere, C-Wire strung out at all the intersections, Bradley's at key points. I had to put all my gear back together that I'd spent the previous night cleaning to turn in, and that night hanging with the DS and all my basic buddies and eating pizza and watching a movie in a peacetime army seemed like so long ago already. I volunteered for QRF and I got my first ROE card and combat load before I even graduated. I walked the parade field and went straight to Airborne hold, no time off, no party. Defcon went all the way up and we were doing 100% security inspections on critical personnel only allowed to enter. Consequently, some hippies had the biggest SOA demonstration ever and tried to storm the base and jump the fence.
To this day those 50 some odd hippies will never know how close they actually came to getting mowed down by the 240. Let's just say it was a last minute judgement call by the officer in charge of base security. Instead we chased 'em into the woods and tackled 'em. HARD. Later that week, I pulled duty at SOA and taught Libyan officers how to use the M16 on these military pinball shoot 'em up "trainers".
It was a pretty big fucking deal and it was a pivotal moment where the 90's ended and this new era began. Everyone remembers what they were doing and where they were like it was yesterday and I can still see everyone and the smells and sounds, all still there. "Some people did some things". Fuck her.
Before 09/11/01, any movie or TV series with a depiction of life in the armed services would always show soldiers grumbling about boredom and how the only action they would see is some 'peacekeeping mission' in some African country. (The Outer Limits-"Gettysburg", was one example) The years leading up to that fateful day can be considered another age of innocence, much like the pre-Vietnam and pre-drug epidemic 1950's.
All of that came crashing down on the morning of that day. Shit became real. No more daydreaming. Not with thousands of casualties and battlefield conditions right here at home. When those planes struck, that marked the transition to a full state of war. And since it was virtually impossible in the initial hours after the attacks for the defense agencies to know what the hell was really going on, the worst possible scenarios would have to be assumed for anything and everything. Those hippie protestors you mentioned dealing with had been lucky. Dicking around with a military base on full alert sounds like a guaranteed Darwin Award winning move.

Omar said “Some people did something”, where the "some people" were the Saudis and the something was a terror attack. She didn't say "somethings".
I also feel strongly that we give credit where credit's due. If she'd actually stated that 911 wasn't a terror attack and dehumanized the victims as "somethings" then I'd be in agreement with all the anger but that's not what she said.
The deceptive tweet by Imam Mohamad Tawhidi's said "Omar mentions 9/11 and does not consider it a terrorist attack on the USA by terrorists" but that's a flat out lie. She said no such thing and that tweet was intended to manipulate all of us.
Why am I here? I'm here because I enjoy long range shooting. I commented in this thread because I think its important to point out times when we're potentially being manipulated and I'm arguing that Imam Mohamad Tawhidi's tweat did just that. I could be wrong but at least my comment gave people the opportunity to explore the possibility were being manipulated.
I have no love for Ilhan Omar but I'll judge her for things she actually did. Not something someone made up.
I find myself wrestling with this all the time. I want to grant ALL the same freedom and liberty that I have been privileged to grow up in. I want to grant all the same religious liberty that I have known.
All religions have had their low points. Read about the Jews when they first crossed the Jordan river to take the 'Holy Land'. They slaughtered EVERY LIVING THING. Christianity and the Inquisitions, or the burning of witches. The problem lies in that Ive read the Koran and I see a system that mandates that I either bow to it or be eliminated. That doesnt sound very appealing.
I tend to agree with Omar that Israel (and their American supporters) buy way too much influence with Benjamin. So does everyone else with lots of Benjamin's. Life is much easier when you own a few politicians. Trouble is, is her slant seems aimed at pushing an Islamic agenda rather than addressing real problems here.
