At least his family will get a bit of closure knowing they arrested the guy that did it.

The perp came in illegally over the AZ border...
Two previous DUI arrests... Two! Two!!!! And was not deported after the first one.
The first person who should go to jail for aiding and abetting... is the farmer who employed him. Pay an illegal.. with two DUI's.... you are responsible.
The next one who should go to jail.. is the prosecutors/politicians who let him out after DUI 1... the ones who let him go after DUI 2 should be charged as accessories to the murder of the officer.
City council members who try and create sanctuary, if there are any... culpable. Whoever issued him a drivers license... financially liable. Should be criminally liable.
If he was not in the country, he would not have killed the officer. If he were not issued a drivers license, he would not have killed the officer. If he had been deported after his first offense, he would not have killed the officer. If he had been deported after the second offense, he would not have killed the officer. If he had not gotten a paycheck from a SCUMBAG farmer who wanted cheap labor, he would not have killed the officer.
Seeing a pattern here? We need a scorched-earth policy for these people. When you suddenly lose your family farm because the shitbag gang-banger drunk you employed turns out to be a murderer... well, doesn't that send a message to farmer John down the road?
Someone should dox the farmer and put him on camera.

I think we are at the point where Jail should not be an option for punishment, tar and feather, and I mean smoldering tar, other colonial punishments for wayward government officials.

Does the farmer know he's hiring illegal labor? If so, prosecute. Farm labor tends to be more cash payment, manly due to the short durations that a lot of labor is needed. If the farmer is not concealing cash labor payments on his taxes and isn't knowingly* hiring illegal labor, then not his problem. *Did you know you can hire an illegal beaner, run his name and SSN through everify and it comes back good because it's a real name and SSN (just not this beaners name/SSN). Said beaner's even got the drivers license to match provided by some guy that has a booth at the beaner section at some trade lot or one of the States (i.e. CA) that don't want to prove who they're issuing licenses to. You can w2 or 1099 this now bona fide beaner and he won't file, you won't know it, the Feds will know but they don't do a fucking thing about it.
Did the farmer allow him in the country? Border security is one of the few legitimate responsibilities of the fed gov and they refuse to do it. Farmers job is producing food and materials and he better be good at it and smart, otherwise he'll lose his ass due to small margins and the gov waiting for him to die prior to paying an estate planner to figure out how to keep the fed from forcing the sale of his farm through taxes.
You know good as anybody this farmer does not set labor rates; the market does. Who's responsible for taking our native labor out of the labor market? Who's responsible for allowing the import of replacement labor in enough quantity to set the labor rate so low? Hint, it's not the farmer.

The minimum wage thing is actually a bit of a distraction and false flag issue to hide the real truth.
There would be no discussion at all about the minimum wage if we kicked every person in this country illegally out on their asses & kept them from coming in. Then stopped letting the big greedy corporate filth bribe our congress critters to export all the jobs out of the country so they can make a little bit more profit, while directly funding and arming our Enemies with the profits ripped from our country & destroying the ability of decent citizens and legal residents to hold good jobs. Then continue what Trump started in taking the government's boot off the neck of business owners and producers here in the country so things can get made & done here.
If you took care of those three things, then the market forces of supply and demand for labour would take care of the wage issue & we wouldn't have any problems.
But as it is now, our wealth goes to fund corruption and drugs in Mexico as well as to help our Enemies the Chinese build up their army and world footprint till they feel confident to start trying to dictate terms to us.
