Alright, getting serious about a 28 nosler for a hunting rifle. This isn't my first build, but I do have a few questions and am looking for input with which action to roll with as I'll be ordering the stock within the week.
I'm gonna go carbon fiber barrel and APA bottom metal. Stock I'm leaning towards is the new eh6a. The action is where I'm not fully set on.
The contenders: Deviant ultralight, Bighorn TL3, Lone Peak Arms TI each have their pros and cons in my mind for this build.
I've always had my eyes on using the Defiance since this model was released. Everything is rugged/integral and lightweight. Like the look too. I've owned 2 Defiance actions and each have been great.
I really like bighorn actions. I have a SR2 and a short action TL3. Super smooth and the TL3 is crf. Would be the heaviest of the three. I know they have a SR3 coming down the line, but the pic I saw I didn't necessarily like the look.
The Lone Peak Arms is unfamiliar to me. I do like trying new stuff and have always wanted to do a TI build.
What I need to know and gather is the weight of the three actions?
What inlet to use for the LPA razor action. I've seen pics where the stock ejection inlet doesn't match since the rear ejection port is V'ed rather than right angled. I know it's just cosmetic, but still. Thinking maybe a stiller predator would match?
I will be putting a brake on this one. Thinking 24-26" for total barrel length?
