When you are living in a time where millions of people are angry at the FBI, ATF, DOJ and Federal gov't in general, because they just burnt a religous group to death, and then make the choice to day care your children in a building associated with these same agencies.....then probably the same, same, no? I am pretty sure if parents of either party knew that the end result was death of said children, they both would have chosen different paths for said children. Maybe, maybe not.....people can be stupid!
I elect not to associate with criminals, druggies, or low life people for the same reasons. Shit storms follow these same groups!
Now your example of the post office is different. If the post office decided to start shooting all dogs that met them at the door, porch, or mail box, they have now painted targets on their backs. If you then elect to continue doing business with said pet killers, then you might not be so innocent when the bomber strikes, right?
I am not saying your thought process is wrong or unfounded, but I am not so sure either party is really innocent. For example, if I look out the window this morning and see a big ass red/orange ball of fire heading my way, somewhere in my last thoughts, I am going to assume this is the revenge for the actions our country takes in other parts of the world. Right or wrong, it's a potential we all face being part of this "cult".....AKA USA.

Looking at the incidents in question and how the media presented them, and comparing the current media.
Back then, the media was much more subtle and less agenda visible. Except in pushing the US Government was on the peoples side, the US Government was right, and to side against them was wrong.
There were few outlets to differ with them. Soldier of Fortune magazine comes to mind as the strongest voice arguing against the government actions.
As we progress to today, with the internet and the huge proliferation of views, with social media being manipulated, with a narrative being pushed, and with contrary opinions bring crushed, viewing then versus now, can show, once again, how media created the lingering feelings that

Then, we were living in a time when government under Clinton and Reno threatened freedoms and 2A.
It might be fair to say NRA and the right were fear mongering, which led to the strong militia movements.
Which led to some unease in both the complete left and moderate right, because of the way media presented militia members much in the same negative way the armed Virginians were presented against Northam. The militias definitely worried Clinton and Reno.
Because of the less visibility into the militia versus the Virginians, it was easier for the media to paint a darker picture of the militias.
Due to the poor reputations of religious cults, it was easy to demonize them then. And to paint Vernon Howell as an unhinged child molester and sex addict who dominated his followers. In the same vein as 1978 Jones and Guyana suicide crazy. People who removed themselves from mainstream America, Jones, Howell, militias, separatists, black panthers, all threats to "a unified America", and the media painted it that way.
There was no internet following like we have today crying foul.
So, the same democratic party that tries to destroy DT today, decided to destroy cults, militias, and separatists to get those freedom seeking people back in line.
And they pushed it until the people roared, and we see how differently the Montana Freemen incident went, not pushed in the news like Waco,
And further, we see comparatively how hard the media demonized the Vietnam war, the foilables of the religious right, Jim Jones, RR, Waco, orange man bad, and covid today.
The media flooded the news with "all that bad" day in and day out, until the people begin to accept. If you repeat the lie long enough, people will believe it.
And in that same vein, showing Waco day in and day out, with showing Howell's recordings that painted him as a nut, doing it long enough that people tired of it, wanted it to end, and they really didnt care how, just end it and go away. Like they attack DT today.
The people were dulled down enough to accept government murder of "the bad man"
Where in OKC, showing the bombed building almost as much as the media showed 911, and pushing the "innocent victim" narrative, over and over, and over, again dumbed down the people to accept the narrative.
The media pushing Waco so long as a sex mad child molesting bible babbling nut (911 those religious extremists)
pushing OKC as all those innocent moms, children, etc (911 families in the aircraft)
It should be more clear why a great majority of people are angrier at OKC than Waco, from the historical perspective of how the media has pushed the "pictures" so long until government murder fades into the background.
Considering that the media had played the murder rates in the lower income elements, as deserved because of those elements criminal choice lifestyles,
but ignoring the people caught in the criminal crossfire, still murders, "but they deserve it because they dont do anything to stop the crimes", until people generally are desensitized to murder as just another acceptable daily event.
To include government murder of cults, militias, separatists, or people different from the masses they want to influence to support the government.
I know a lot of people dont see the correlations above, and how they have affected four generations that are active today, when the last three years the media has drowned us with orange man, deplorables, and fly over America is BAD...
trying to paint oj-m, deplorables, and fly over America in the same picture as KKK, Jim Jones, Vernon Howell, militias, cults, separatists, and such.
It's a never ending attack on freedom loving Americans who arent buying in.
