ok a couple months ago this fellow calls me from a credit counsiling place and i introduce my self as john anderson!i play the bs with this guy for a few and the conversation went south real quick and yes i got biligerant to him.ya know a few your a mother fer, hell probley even a couple racial slurs, well the telemarketer fellow ended the conversation with the statement that if i didnt like his call that i would hate the next ones.so for everyday since then i get about 40 calls aday from telemarketrs wanting to fix my credit or sell me a life time of diapers.the call always starts the same from there end may i speak to john.sorry my name is monty.so i guess i learned to not be rude to telemarketers.guess its time to change my phone#

Re: a lesson learned damit!

Best thing to do is if you dont recognize the number dont say anything,,,just listen. Most of them are keyed to complete the connection when you say hello the second time. Justdontspeak and if a body doesnt come on just hang up. If they do have a perxson on the other end just hang up. You dont owe them anything. I hat telemarketers...wish someonewould develop a system thatyou could push 922 or somehting and their phone would melt in their hand.

Re: a lesson learned damit!

What I hate worse than telemarketers are the bill collectors that are trying to chase down the guy that had my phone number last. They are a persistant lot.

Recycled phone numbers suck..........

Re: a lesson learned damit!

I used to be a telemarketer for a company that represented all of the cable companies

when I was like 20... could only do it for 4 months though

It sucked ass, and I felt pretty ashamed whilst doing so... but it had its perks too, mainly due to the high-ass turnover rate!
That meant a new training "class" of about 40 people every week... Mostly women, lots of fresh poon (lots of jailbait, but more than enough legal chicks!)

Anyways... All you gotta say is "Remove my name/number from your list", and by law they're required to delete your name and number from their call list... granted it takes 30 days!

"I know a guy" who warned someone to quit calling a family member with harassing phone calls. "That guy I know" blocked his home phone line and cell phone line. The harasser made the mistake of calling from work.

Every Craigslist men4men casual encounter section for 300 miles had an ad with his work number, name and desire to please perfect strangers. The calls to his work went through a receptionist that worked outside the boss's office.

Re: a lesson learned damit!

I do a variety of bits of amateur comedy, playing various roles such as, retarded guy, deaf guy, guy whose Mama doesn't want him talking on the phone (My wife plays mama!), deep south guy, New York guy, gibberish talking guy, paranoid guy, old senile guy, as well as a few others.

Good times.

He's a funny guy.

I no longer have a landline and sort of miss the occasional entertainment of a telemarketer call. Most are too stupid to realize you're wasting their time. I figure anytime I engage one of these guys I'm saving someone else a call.
