I was perusing SWFA last night and saw the cheezy cheezy BSA Sweet .22 3x9 x 40 with the drop compensating turrets.

It was $40! I thought, "even a broke-ass like me can afford optics for my goofy .22."

I know we really only care about $3200 optics here in this section but I may make a report for people just to chart my experience with it. I am curious about how they figured on the drop compensation (barrel length, scope height, velocity, etc.) and if my application will hold up. I plan on zeroing @ 50, and placing dot targets out every 25 yards to 175 just to see if the drop compensation really works.

Should be a cool experiment.

I threw on of the Sweet 17 models on a 17 HMR and it was pretty much on the mark with the turret adjustments for both 17 and 20gr bullets. I am not about to put a BSA on my high end rifles, but for that little set up it is perfect. No complaints and I would do it again. I paid a hair more than $40 for it though, but I did grab it from SWFA.

I just bought the Sweet 22 from SWFA and have it on my Savage MII FV-SR. Works pretty well. Clicks are a little weak but you can hear and feel them. Glass isn't bad. The best was the aluminum screw on lens covers. The last scope sat so low that the bolt would hit the scope covers. With these screw on covers there's plenty of clearance. This is the last target I shot with it while testing out ammo at 30ish yards.

Not bad for a $40 scope. I was hoping to get some more Wolf ammo and try the tracking out this weekend.
