Finally found a place to shoot at Ozona, Texas. Boy! Ranchers around here are not welcoming. I suspect city slicker clowns have been paying to hunt deer and abusing the privilege. But for most of them they did little or nothing to get the ranch in the first place. Much of the land here was patented to an original owner who then was paid fortunes for royalties who then willed both to legatees who then sold the land but retain mineral rights. So ranches are owned by either legatees or other rich folks who bought them. In either event some of them are asses. What they really want is the $2000 per gun to hunt deer which they had nothing to do with either like the oil and gas. Funny how we are stingy with God's gifts.

Re: A place to shoot.

I agree, I've met several ranchers across west Texas and have yet to meet a nice one. Most of them are pissed because someone is drilling on their land and they don't have the mineral rights.
