Last Thursday Morning I received a very sobering phone call..........That My Brother Marine, Tim Hamler had died several hours before. It's been laying real hard on my heart this week and I have finally gotten the motivation to post this Memorial thread. I'm not sure if this section is the appropriate spot to post, but I spend 99.9% of my time in this section and I've grown found of you guys and wanted to share this with you guys. For those of you wondering.......Tim was working on his favorite car (benz slk amg) changing the alternator....late Weds. night(by himself) home alone...and the car fell off the jack, kicked out the Jack stands and Crushed him. I got the call the following morning around 8:30am after the neighbor found him...on their way to work.

I had Just talked to him 3 days before for about 2.5 hrs........We were planning on building another Target M14 Rogue, to enter into the precision Rifle series. I was making a Xmas wish list for him, this is what he was thinking............Tim was hellbent on a LRB, Krieger super heavy weight barrel.......chambered in 6.5 creedmore, 24"-26" long with a 1:8 twist. Sounds crazy, but we had it planned out and I was actually getting pretty excited about the project. For now, that project is on hold.......until I can get my head clear......I know Tim would want me to proceed, but I'm just a bit sad right now......and need a little time to heal.
Tim and I were in the same Platoon back in the Days of the Fleet Marine Corps..........We use to joke that I use to spank him in rifle and pistol qualifications.........but then the Marine Rifle team got a hold of him.....and the rest is history! Tim was very, very meticulous and very analytical.......he taught me 98% of what I know in regards to Reloading..........he even set up my reloading shop for me. Tim was a great Friend,Father,Husband and of course, Marine. I can't get into his combat missions with the British SAS, but I will tell you.......he was a badass shot. Below, I posted a pics of Tim, that I took about one year ago (yes that's Tim looking threw his rogue and Urtel scope......he loved that scope!) I have also, posted his Resume below.......It speaks for it's self. He was #345 of 750 Marines ever to be awarded both distinguished Marine pistol and rifle awards, since the year 1909.

Please pray for Tim's friends and family...for healing, of their great loss. Tim, if you can hear me........God speed Brother, you will be truly missed.

Shit, I can't believe I just saw this topic. I heard about this the day after it happened. Gunny taught me a whole lot years ago. I'll never forget his talent at the Infantry Team Trophy matches.

Semper Fi, 'Guns. Thanks for everything.

Sorry for your loss and prayers for his family are inbound. I remember talking to him at Camp Butner briefly one year but had no idea just how accomplished he was in the shooting community. Semper Fi
