Suppressors AAC 7.62 sdn-6.. Any new information?

I know this suppressor isn't talked about much here, but I am going through the long wait for this can... I just can't find alot of information out there so I was hoping anyone using this could post up any recent thoughts, opinions, pics, video's... just anything to keep me going!

I have to admit I ordered the sdn before doing a large amount of research and may have gone a different route... but it is too late for that now!

For SBR use, that is our preferred suppressor that we use at the shop. Most of our shop 300BLK guns run a SDN-6, and all of our HK SBRs (HK53, HK51 and soon to be HK23EK) run the SDN-6.

I'm in the same boat, waiting for the form 4 to clear. I think the issue here is that long NFA clearance times mean that not many people have been able to use this suppressor and give feedback yet.

I hope thats the case. You can find random reports around the internet about large POI shifts and the mount not locking up well. I just never know what to believe! Always looking for new info while I wait!

I will be going out with my dealer next month to shoot the can on a LaRue OBR. He's a friend, I'm too impatient and I've still got some waiting time on the Form 4. I'll post the results then. I've got to think that AAC has been at this long enough not to put a subpar product out on the market.

I also know a military rep from Remington, he's pretty up to speed on AAC products as they are both owned by the same company. I'll see what he has to say about this as well.

Without question, the best case scenario for accuracy is a thread on suppressor, rather than QD.

I spoke with a Remington military rep last night about this. He indicated that this can was really designed around the 300 Blackout. He said the POI shift is minimized if you really crank the can down onto the mount. Especially when the can/mount are new. According to this guy, when you screw it on, if you just go hand tight, it will be a little loose after 5 shots or so. However, it you crank it down "one more tooth" it will stay tight and thus, maintain more consistent groups.

I hope that makes sense...

I am sorry, but this is no where close to being accurate. When the can grabs the last tooth on the mount, it is tight. It doesn't come loose. You don't have to "crank it down one more tooth." When its on the last tooth, you will know. I have run this can on several SBRs from 8" to 12.5" and several machine guns. I have run it on bolt guns and AR-10~ platform and it has never come loose. I have never had to tighten the can down after a mag dump. That is the sole purpose of a ratchet mount.

It does not surprise me one bit that a Remington rep does not know their product. I shoot this can on a weekly basis, often times several times a week. The only mounts that I don't recommend from AAC are the 18t. The 51t is a good mount.

Ever heard of the M4-2000 from AAC? Popular and highly praised suppressor, right? The N6 uses the SAME MOUNT. The mounts are exactly the same on the outside, the interface is the same, the lockup is the same. Sometimes you get a can and mount that ends up perfectly "on" a tooth and doesn't have any slack, sometimes you have one that stops turning and needs to back off a tiny amount to be tight on a tooth. The suppressor works either way. I've run at least 6 different SPR-M4 51 tooth mounts on different rifles, and despite any perceived difference in "tightness" the rifles all performed to their potential. The N6 is a good suppressor. I sold my 18 tooth SD and am waiting for the paper on my N6. You're gonna like it.

Guys I gotta chime in on the 18T. I have a 762SD with it and I've never had one instance with it backing off. I run it on a Rem. 700 as well as a Larue Stealth 556. Again never had a problem. The attachment system might be older, but I don't don't think it's inferior. Someone out there might run across a great deal on a 18T and I wouldn't want to scare them away.

There is nothing wrong with the 18t mount. Yes, it is older technology but the 260 I have it on is dead nuts accurate and never comes loose.

My experience is different. I had a 2008 model 762-SD. On the .300wm, the can would not shoot loose on the 18t mount. But on an AR10 style .308 and a .308 bolt gun, the suppressor would shoot loose on the 18t mount. Once it was loose, the groups went to sh!t.

AR10's have a lot of recoil movement in the operating system itself. So, when you add pressure to it, it will seem more violent and work things loose quicker. I had my can coming off my GAP10 and unscrewing the sunshade. I went to a SF can that creates less back pressure and it ran like a top.

It's all about the parts you choose and how they are assembled.

This is the only reason I sold my 18 tooth. I'm going to an AR10, so I decided to get the SD with it's latched mount. The 18 tooth never gave a single problem on my Rem 700. Interestingly, it's not given my buddy any problems on his Larue OBR, either.
