Does the aadland objective cap fit both the sunshade and the 56mm objective the same?

It does fit both. I ran the cap on the sunshade before I got my NV clip-on, but I had to take the sunshade off for clearance and I moved the cap straight to the objective. No issues either way. Hope this helps.
