Hi all from Italy,
I've just bought an Accuracy AT308, even if my gun shop told me that only AXMC is made for barrell/caliber change, in the manual the factory speaks about "quicklock" system for AT too, in fact unscrewing the locking screw and using a tool on the flat faces at the end of the barrell it's possible to remove it in few minutes.
My question is: is this system only for swapping among .308 barrels (to use different lengths or to deep clean, for example) or also for using different calibers, compatible with 308 bolt face (6.5x47 lapua, 260 or 6.5 Creed)? Because I'd like to buy also a 6.5 barrell for long distance shooting...
Thank you for your answers (and sorry for my bad english)
kindly. Lorenzo

Its the very same system the AXMC has, so yes, you can swap to the other cartridges you mentioned.

Edit: You must buy AW/AT replacement barrels(27mm tenon). The AXMC, while the same system design, has a larger 30mm tenon.

Should I be able to unscrew original barrel by hand?
And when I'm replacing barrel, what is the torque for the new one? Or should I screw it by hand, again?

And...last stupid question...in order to swap caliber the only thing is to swap barrel? Or modify or check anything else?

Thanks

With the AT rifle you can swap to a cartridge that can use the same bolt face diameter. For example, .308, .260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6 Creedmoor, .243 Win, 7mm-08 Win, 22-250 Rem, etc.
