Accuracy International AT 308 vs Remington M24

Hi all, I've a Accuracy Int. AT 308 and I'm loving it (in the past I've owned a AWP 24" and a AX 308), for its construction and expecially for its accuracy, even if it's a tactical rifle and not a custom.
Now I've the possibility to buy a brand new original Remington M24 (for 25th) that is my another dream (I love military/historical snipers).
Has anybody experience with both these rifles? Is M24 accuracy comparable with Accuracy Int. rifles?

I don't have too much experience with the AIs or proper m24s... so take this with a grain of salt... but the AT is going to be a better mouse trap than an m24.

The accuracy may come out even but the ai is just a more all around better package. So if you want it for the collectors sake then go for it, but if the pure mechanical make up and engineering is what youre after its going to be hard to live up to the AT.

it's a Apples to Oranges Comparison

The M24 is circa 1982, it has not changed since that time

A Ruger RPR is better than an M24 out of the box,

Now if you have a surplus one, that saw use, then you have a collector's piece, but as a new rifle, it's a 1982 Chevy you are a comparing to a 2020 BMW

I don't think anyone is saying don't buy it if it is one of your dream rifles to own, just don't expect it to be like the AI. Enjoy it for what it is.

It doesn't break down a lot but when it does it's expensive to get fixed.

I have put a whole lotta rounds through a 24 and love that rifle for what it is. Frank can re late with that ol m40a1. I own a real deal m40a1 as well and you could buy 2 AI rifles for what that thing is worth . I agree the prices are a bit insane compared to the rifle system's that are out now and yes its like a Ferrari to Chevy Truck comparison .I just like my friggin truck man! You could get all the parts together and have a quality smith build you a better rifle than the house guns ever were IMHO . All joking aside if you want an awesome rifle that will be reliable and you want an m24. Get IT! Mount a mk3 or mk4 on that bad boy and shoot the hell out of it. It may not out shoot your AI and for sure wont be as smooth and nice fitting like your AI is. After a couple thousand 175 smk's that 24 bolt will be smooth as glass though .lol and you will have a cool rifle to show your bro's

In Italy price is pretty more insane, it's more expensive than an AT (6000$ vs 5500$), so it's better to seek something different if I pretend the same accuracy of an AI, even if M24 is really beautiful.

I have an M24R and love it for what it is: A rifle with a few pieces of history on it. Wish I would have bought two when they were still on the market in decent numbers.

However, it is not a rifle renowned for accuracy or ergonomics. So it boils down to what you are looking for. Do you want an accurate and comfortable rifle, or do you want an exceptionally accurate and comfortable rifle? If the M24 is not a rebuild, then it is a no-brainer for me.
