Hello,
Anyone know what Inch/Pounds to torque down the one peice AI Scope mount rings to base (3 of them) and also the rings (8 of them)?

Accuracy International Mounts are machined aluminium one piece mounts.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Accuracy International Mount Inch/Pounds Torque

I read an AI document a few weeks ago that said 18 for the rings and 31 for the base.

31 in/lb : "m5 scope mount clamp screws" for base to pic or dovetail (3x screws).

18 in/lb : "m4 scope mount upper clamp securing screws" (8x)

I have accidentally torqued the mount onto the dovetail at 44 in/lb (misread that chart) without issue, but I wouldnt do it again. 60 will probably damage the mount.

Here's what it actually says in the AI AW Users Manual:

Stock Side Screws: 0.8Nm
Shroud Cover Screws: 2.0Nm
Muzzle Brake Clamp : 4.0Nm
Foresight Clamp : 3.5Nm
Rearsight Clamp : 3.5Nm
Trigger Clamp Screws: 3.5Nm
Action Screws: 4.0Nm
Butt Pad Screws: 3.5Nm
Scope to Action Screws
- 4mm key : 3.5Nm
- 3mm key : 2.5Nm
Scope Ring Screws : 2.5Nm

If you're working in in/lb, here's what I make them:

0.8Nm = 7in/lb
2.0Nm = 17.7 in/lb
2.5Nm = 22in/lb
3.5Nm = 30.9 in/lb
4.0Nm = 35.4 in/lb

Yes... 61 was incorrect... it should be 18 for the rings and 31 for the base.

Thanks.

One followup newbie question - I have the AI 28 MOA mount, but there's no indication which end is forward. Which side do the clamp screws go on?

Clamp screws go on the left, opposite of the bolt handle (unless you have a lefty). If you set the mount on a flat surface you can clearly see the can't.
