I am doing a 700-Tactical-AAC-SD Build and i am not sure which stock & magazine to get. The AICS stock comes with the detachable mag, and goes for about $860. The B&C Adjustable Medalist and the Surgeon Mag kit would cost about $800. The buget would be maxed-out with either one, but I could swing it. What are your thoughts on either of these set-ups? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I recently had to decide on which chassis I wanted to go with. I ended up going with the AICS. I also bought some viperskins for it. I love the chassis. My advise to you would be to try and get behind both of them and see what you like. I'm a little biased so I can't really tell you what to go with. Good luck with your search. Just in case you hadn't seen enough pics of the AICS's here is another!

The b&c will need to be inletted for the dbm, so add some 75-100 bucks on that route.

I like the AI. I tried the pistol grip Skins form AI. I do not care for them. But I also did like the bit of the B&C when I had one you. Like stated above. Find them if you can locally and see how they fit.

no it doesn't. they have DBM kits out there that kit directly to a B&C. Stockys typically carries them.
but if your getting a DBM then add around $250 to the cost of the B&C because a DBM runs around that depending on the model.

im picking up a Mcrees chassis for my wifes Stevens 200 project.
they make a few different models and they are priced a tiny bit lower than the final cost of a B&C with DBM and a AI.
they also make a model where you can use your favorite AR buttock.

The PT&G works with AI mags, as does Hooper Ordnance, CDI and several others.
A Manners stock with mini-chassis is also a fine option.
The AICS is a very fine chassis, though not for everyone.
The McCree and XLR are both less expensive and lighter than the AICS, they are both rock solid systems.

If you haven't tried them, you need to before you choose.
Any stock is going to be more work than a chassis system. But depends on what feels better to you.

He asked about a surgeon dbm, they need the stock inletted just like a bo m5. The Mcree folder weighs the same as an aics 2.0, i have both. 5.5 ish lbs, the xlr non folder i have is 4.8 lb

I don't own one, I own an XLR.
There are legions of very happy McRee owners out there.
There isn't much to a chassis. It is a block of aluminum that is cut to accept a barreled action.

I tried to like the asics twice - just could not go for the thumbhole or pistol grip on a precision rifle - it is a much different feel than the B+C / TRG / Mcmillan
you really do want to get a little time behind them before buying
if you want to inlet it yourself the stiller DBM is the easiest and most forgiving

Fdkay is that the raw, unfinished Mcree stock for 515, or is that a Christmas blowout sale. I bought mine last jan, Christmas sale, savage folder and stock pack for 750. It is a rugged stock that has very good ergonomics. The Remington aics grip is too close to the trigger for me, i replaced the skins with viperskins and xl grip. It now fits perfect. I will say the Mcree seems heavier, both my Mcree and aics stocked rifles weight the same but the aics rifle just seems more lively in hand. Also don't most dbm come without mags? The aics comes with a 5 rd. I should mention my savage aics is perfect in regards to trigger/grip distance for me.
