What makes the AI so great? Another way of phrasing my question is what do you tell people why you chose an AI over a less expensive custom build?

The worst part about owning an AI is the constant “my gun shoots just as well and was 50% the price” comments.

AI is so great, you will experience some random middle age guy sneaks 10ft behind you and taking pictures of you (or AI)

True story 🤣

Now, I know what you're thinking, training tool versus an aid / gimmick / crutch. Well, just wait until you get so old you're in your own PRS category, can't see that damn Spuhr bubble level and your equilibrium isn't what is used to be so you're vestibular sense is questionable. ;) I'm giving the Send iT a test run on the .260 SA and may move it up to the AXMC when I reach out to a mile. Flame away...

Range days always start early at the Quantico Shooting Club, and Sunday is always a 1,000yd day! 0700 the gate opens to place targets, pits close at 0745, EMT arrives by 0800 for first shots. It was a brisk 26 degrees this morning, but clear and light winds. I placed 9 steel targets from 590yds out to 1,000yds and the .260 AI was performing well, but I wasn't. I need to get true velocities on the Prime and Hornady so I can true as I was .2mils off at 590yds and .6mils low at 1,000.

Labradar was on the other side of the range working with my AI AE Mk I 260 Rem. Up at 0400 almost every day...........even when I don't want to unfortunately😕

.260 Master Race! I should have stopped by that side of the range to see your AE; I thought you were still working on the 6CM.

Too bad we're limited to 450yds until January, but I'll be out at Ironman first week in Dec. WTBN is getting public works busy on R4 though. Someone we know well held PW to the standard and they began cutting back 10 feet from the road.

Anyone got a pic of what a normal Green AT looks like with the AX sage green stock swap? Gotta decide between black and green for the swap.

Older picture of mine (it's .308), before the 6.5CM barrel and thumbhole stock conversion. The Ruger 6.5CM RPR in the background is mine too.

I have a set of black skins (not thumbhole version) but never fitted them.

I’m not sure if those are the sage green stocksides that comes on the AT LE. Different shades of AI green are confusing the hell out of me lol. I’m pretty sure the AT normal green is a little different.
The one on the tripod is a 2019 ATLE. That picture is of my gun. Here are some more photos of it before I changed to the AO chassis

Would you say that it’s Sage Green stocksides as opposed to the normal green? I keep seeing online that mile high has specific green stocksides made to match the ax folder in Sage green.

I emailed them and they said the didn’t have any in stock if I wanted to buy them.

Honestly not exactly sure what your asking. The AT skins are a darker and in my opinion prettier green. AX sage green is more pale. It is a slightly different. But its really close. However I believe as far as AI is concerned its the same green. Its just slightly different due to the difference in material or color of the undercoat. Like I said its close. Personally AI makes a great weapon but their cerakote aint that great as far as matching colors. And those who have tried to match AI colors have had difficulties due to AIs condition on colors. @samb300 might be able to chime in with a less opinion based comment as he has delt with trying to match colors.

@abalducci94 if you're looking to have anything Cerakoted to color match AI stuff, give Rick at GCP Rifle Co a call. He is a certified Cerakote applicator and can paint anything you need.
