Accuracy International Picture Thread

@Mile High Shooting and AI being gay AF. Putting the AX stock with the AT and the 16" barrel is super dangerous in the hands of a civilian. Even the new ATXC with a shorter rail and color matched action is too dangerous. Only for those who are donut snipers and the people who can protect us from the invasion can have those things..... But yet, we can go out and buy a ASR chambered in 338LM. lol

How do you like your Hensoldt? Have you had it for a while?

I’ve had it about a year and really haven’t shot with it much. But, it is what it I expected from Hensoldt…. Fantastic glass, basic reticle (I’m not a fan of grids and dots and bullshit like that), accurate adjustments, etc. I really can’t say anything negative about it other than the 36mm tube limits mount options. And, the abrupt angle of the objective bell doesn’t allow the ARC diving board to work on the M-Brace. It’s a bit of an odd scope, but I bet I never have to change the battery again!

To play devils advocate, it could be as simple as a cost issue (special price that's been worked out for LEOs) or just the they don't make many and want to keep them in stock for LEOs.

Had same one. Agree on your assessment.

I often thought about buying one after I saw one but the CW adjustment would screw me up.

Glad you are having good luck with it. It is a hell of a scope.

There is a LE version of the ATX. Still short foreend, but full top rail. There is also a LE version of the AXMC...it's called the AXMC MKIII across the pond. Cause they don't want it to interfere with the ASR sales in the US.
I posted a pic of an axmc le in the US homie

I understood the AT LE could be bought with a DD214 but the other LE models required LE agency letterhead.

This was discussed a ways back by @Mile High Shooting.

-Stan

The AXMC and AT-LE can be purchased by retired or current LE or Mil.

It is a contract. We honor contracts.

It's been ages since I have loaded 308 for any of my guns. But I have tons of new Lapua brass and 155 scenars, 175SMKs, and 175 bergers. Does anyone have any good load data for 20" AiAx or At in 308?

Thanks

"50 grs of whatever send it" snipers hide starting load crew

You can probably do 50gr of H4350 and not get pressures with the 175s. But most likely it will fill to the neck and compress the load before hitting 50 grains. It's not the right powder for that cartridge/bulllet combo. I just put my 308 barrel back on and another hide member was just telling me, anything from 42-45 varget should work the the 170gr class of bullets. It's very forgiving and shoots very well going slow. But this is the Hide, load up 44-45gr and let it eat.

So pack it to the brim and mash the bullet right to the lands and bobs your uncle, got it!

Ok, seriously though, Ill start off with 43-44 and work up..

Sounds a little high to start with.
I recent looked at every thread I could find for loads in the 168gr range, IMR 4064 and Varget seems to shoot well for many people around 42gr.

I'd start be looking 41-45(maybe 46).
These are all the loads I found people using.

Thanks much. Wasn’t sure of the manufacturer.
The "BNP" is Birmingham Nitro Proof mark (UK not AL)
the "CIP N" means that the proof testing complied with the CIP Normal standard
The Crossed swords and B are for Birmingham proof house (there's another one in London)
The 24 is for 2024 year
the X is the ID mark for the person that did the proof test..

I will start with 42 as recommended by you and a friend, and then do some loads in the upper spectrum, so low and high ish..

Thanks!

My bet is that somewhere between 41.5 - 43.5gr of Varget, IMR-4064, or Reloader 15 will shoot to the best of your barrels potential with 168-178gr bullets.

It is a great cartridge to load for.

I did a bunch of 175 Berger OTMs at 42 and 44, .05 off the lands. Gonna go take it out tomorrow and see how it goes.

It is a forgiving cartridge.
