Nice rifle :)
The 6677DE SKU is available from Sporting Services UK so I would presume EuroOptic and Mile High can get you those.
Thanks M289, I checked, but no DE colored mags, only PB

DE is not a well supported color yet, no barrels or mags that I've seen yet
phxfa, seems like it...weird that my rifle came with a DE mag, but do not see any for sale. Barrels too. Unless my mag was actually PB??? i don't have PB to compare, that said, it matches the DE color on my rifle

DE-Baby Shit Brown,,,got mine 2 weeks ago, still don't know if I like it. The more black that I put on it the better I like the color.
when I picked it up from my FFL, I went oh fuck

LoL. I actually like it. I like all the colors, just too expensive to collect them all.

Does the AX come pre-tested (shot a few rnds) from factory? Reason is, mine had a copper fouling and it was stuck on the crown. I used some 99% isopropyl alcohol and CLP, but couldn't remove it all.

They shoot before they ship

Took the lefty AX out for the first time today, and it shot awesome! I only got the chance to shoot the 6.5x47L barrel, but I put 100 "break-in" rounds through it so it hopefully won't be speeding up during my load development.

I have to give a shout out to EuroOptic for the rifle, and LRI for making me a 6.5x47L barrel that is perfectly headspaced and cerakoted to match AI's proprietary sage green. Also, check out the Armageddon Gear M2010 case if you like soft cases but are looking for a way to carry a second AI barrel. They added some extra Molle loops for me so I could carry the lefty rifle with the scope up, and to fit the spare barrel.

Very nice package...
Just reviewing this thread for the first time.

Christmas came early!
Specs: 2017 AI AX308 SFP with 20" Lothar Walther barrel, Tactical muzzle brake, Spuhr QDP-4002, Kahles K624i MSR/Ki and B&T Atlas PSR.

Still waiting for my Tenebraex flip covers, those things sure are hard to get in Europe!

AI is timeless and can't be outdated :) What caliber you shooting?

It's a .308. I figured once I shoot the barrel out I’ll put a .260 on it but I’m kind of old school and been shooting .308 for years so who knows. The gun is pretty much brand new and only has 250 rounds through it so I got some time to think about it. It averages around .6 moa with me behind it and really likes Federal premium. Some pics of my first range session. The orange groups are a random hand load and the purple is Federal.

bgolf and bad finger are your barrels the factory 1:12 twists? Just curious since I plan on getting an AT someday and having fun with the 308 for as long as possible too. Thanks!

Yes it's a 1-12. Still shoots 175's real good. Like I said before it shoots pretty much everything about .6 moa. They aren't as "light" as most custom rifles and everything you do is deliberate. It's got a heavy bolt lift, heavy trigger(about a 1.5lb 1st stage and 2.5lb 2nd but really crisp break), and just kind of heavy (13ish lbs). AI's are awesome guns but sometimes it's hard to justify the $ when a custom gun from GAP or other custom builders is cheaper and built the way you want it. Now if you want to do caliber swapping it's AI all day.

Mine is the stock 20" Lothar-Walther 1:2 and it shoots 155gr through 175gr bullets extremely well. It really like Nosler Competition bullets...

She's not new, but she's mine. Picked it up locally with 308 and 6.5CM barrels and a TON of extras. I love this rifle. Any quick tips on trimming the point on the butt pad - or - does anyone make a replacement? I notice it during some of my dry fire practice. Has anyone experienced issues running small rifle primed brass in these?

Experts will chime in re: small rifle primers, but I am pretty sure all 2014 or later manufacture are set up to handle small rifle primers. At least that is what I was told when I bought my AI/AT last year. Enjoy your toy!

Thanks to some inspiration from the "sell everything for an AI" thread I can finally contribute!

Really nice...
Looking at a similar route (used).

Although a life member, I don’t usually shoot at our local range - but was passing by and had my AXMC with me, wind was down so I stopped and tried out my new 7-35 Mil-C. Really a hoot putting hits on exactly the same steel splash 6 times in a row @ 547 then smacking a .5 mill plate @ 1150 numerous times

I was asked about more pictures from my "I will cut off all I can" session with AX AICS... It started, when I realized, that standard AX AICS is not comfortable for me at all. But I still love some features, so I did not wanted to replace it... The only way was tu customize it...

Especially, the grip does not fit into my hands, and I am used to Ergo grip - on all of my other rifles.

Next think I did, was to add "arca swiss" plate for tripod shooting. It is from Feisol (I use Feisol tripod with head). Yes, I would love to have RRS plate, but I did not found any company, shipping to the Europe...

Other think I did, is that I tried Fortmeier bipod. But that system is really "bulky". At least I wanted to get closer to the barrel and get rid of some material. So I rebuild the attachment to fit directly to the keymod front end, instead of clamping to the rail... I still like the Atlas better - for tactics. But this is a little bit more stable, and I wanted to try something else :)

Here is the collection so far, top is Black, PB, Elite Sand, Sage green.

Very nice...it seems you like these fine machines! I was going to run a S/A bolt on my AXMC, but I have decided to pick up another and have both complete rifles. New colors are sharp, I have a PB and may have it turned into burnt bronze. Our local shop does a pretty nice job.

My trigger is slow to reset after cocking. Anyone ever run into this?
Its a AX308

Have you ever taken the trigger pack out and cleaned it? After dusty/dirty matches I will take off the skins and remove the trigger pack, it's held in by two screws. Then I run it under water and a little bit of dish soap, rinse and dry, then lightly lube it. I've never had the trigger go down in a match but after some fine dust gets in it makes a big difference to clean it out.

Thanks Detroit, I do really like them. The PB in the pic is my .22 LR. trainer. Shoot cheap!! I have ran the short conversion on my AXMC now for about 2000 rounds between 308 and 6.5 and never had a problem. I also wanted another complete rifle to bring to matches for a back up and i just wanted to try the short action. I'm happy the bolt is fluted like my MC, some pice I've seen they don't seem to be. Shoot safe!

If you're talking about the small point on the very bottom of the butt pad i just cut mine off using my buck knife. I actually did it when i was in the deer stand a few years back. I got so fed up with it catching on everything i just took the last 1/4” off or so. It looks kinda crude up close but is otherwise functional and still have enough “tail” on the butt pad to help support it when shooting off-hand.

Here is my Elite Sand AX in 308 I just got from Milehigh. I’m just waiting on a Spuhr mount To finish it off.

Had to send my bolt out to MHSA. Was having failure to extract live rounds. Talking to them on the phone they seem to suspect an issue with the extractor. I’ll update when I get it back.

I made a post about my AWSM doing the same thing. If i put the safety in the middle position and gave it a push you could just hear and feel the extractor click over the rim. These are new Lapua brass and once fired its no longer an issue and i cant be bothered with the ball ache sending a rifle or even a bolt halfway round the universe to the uk so i have learned to live with it.
