Accuracy International Picture Thread

Do you guys think this scope will out perform a ZCO or TT on my AI??

I hope I am not breaking any forum rule by posting this completed GB auction: an authentic German Contract G22 overrun sold for 70k. One of the ten such rifles imported to the US:

And I thought my AX was expensive....

I feel like it’s been to long since we had a photo posted. So here is one from Monday. Along with a group shot. Barrel is a osprey barrel from PVA chambered in 6gt shooting 112 match burners.

New rifle days are the best days!

My new AX308 DE showed up today and I gotta say, what a rifle! Meets and exceeds every expectation. Everything except the comp trigger that it came with has some creep but i'm sure It just needs adjusting. Threw on my backup XRS2 H59 on with an ARC QD mount(awesome mounts if you haven't tried one) until I decide what other scope I'll throw on.

Hit the trigger with some lighter fluid to clean it out first.

Spent the morning trying out a new bag rider design thought up by @ballisticdaddy, works very well, allows for a bit more stable platform directly under the butt and gives the shooters off hand more room behind the rifles grip. Now I just have to camo it:ROFLMAO: and yes @ballisticdaddy, I am printing one out for you right now.
Also broke in a new 338LM barrel, and oh boy, it shoots very well! Peterson brass, 215m primer, 300 gr Nosler Custom competition over 91gr of 7977. 3 rnd group fired at 500 yrds, prone, off bipod. I know, its only 3 rounds, but its a good indication the barrel will perform.

First shots with the AX today. Why they hell didn’t I buy one these sooner :)
Definitely makes every other rifle I have seem less interesting all the sudden haha.

Tested some 308 loads with Lapua brass, br2’s, 178eldm’s and CFE223. Varget and 4064 are my usual go-to’s but they haven’t been on shelves for months around here so I’m testing what’s available . Got some crazy speeds, started at 43.0grs and went up to 47 in 0.3 increments. Last speed off the magnetospeed V3 was 2816… which seems crazy high for a 24” barrel. No heavy bolt lift on any of them and only slight flattening of the primer on the 47.0 load. Either way, the node seems to be around 44.3-44.6 in the 2720fps range. Next test will be some 155 scenars with IMR8208xbr.

What bipod are you using it looks pretty interesting

I hesitate to say the brand because I may be tarred and feathered for letting such a bipod touch an AI :ROFLMAO:

It's a UTG over-bore bipod. I bought it because I wanted to try an over bore design like this to see if I like it before dropping the coin on a fortmier or an elite iron. I picked it up used for a crazy deal. wasn't expecting much, being UTG, but the thing is built like a tank. All aluminum and steel. Has a quick detach and friction lock. I'm gonna beat the hell out of it for a while to see how it stands up, I'll keep everybody updated and maybe do a review later on. So far, Its very stable and I like it quite a bit. definitely has made me a convert to the over-bore style.

thanks for the reply and the info I won’t break your balls for buying a cheap bipod. Because hell if it works I’m all for it not everything has to cost 500 bucks

What rear bag are you using?
Good looking AI👍🏼

Changed the scope from a 5x25 PII S&B to the 5x20 Ultra Short S&B and switch out the BiPod to a Atlas BT65 CAL. I am so impressed with this rifle just having a great time shooting it. I know there are better scopes than S&B but they can’t be to much better.

Any comments on moving from the PMII to the shorty? Turrets, brightness, etc.?

What reticle you go with?

Sunday is always 1,000y day at Quantico. We finally have the ability to shoot differing distance targets instead of known distance so I set up steel for the QSC members . Today I placed nine targets from 593y to 998y. I shot the drill and cleaned the course, then spent the day coaching and spotting for other shooters.

AXMC in 300 PRC.

I set up my canopy because it's easier to range back to the canopy rather than range to the target. They have named it the Accuracy International "Pavilion." :)

A crappy (enlarged) iPotato photo so you can see the course of fire. I set three targets at 593y (~3MOA, ~2MOA and ~1 MOA), about 2 yards apart so they could move from the larger to smaller target while building confidence, then to the other targets at 629y, 655y, 675y, 776y, 885y and 998y.

Hey Guys, only asking here because I want people who have experience with AI rifles to answer.
Just shot out another 338LM barrel on my AXMC and replaced it last week. I want to spread the round count out over several barrels instead of just hammering away with the 338LM all the time. I have decided to add a couple of other calibers that hit hard with heavy bullets, so I bought both an AI 300WM and a AI 300NM barrels for the AXMC.
What is your go to load in these 2 calibers? You can PM me with suggestions to keep the thread from diverging into something its not.
Here is a gratuitous picture of the "all around best made rifles". Thanks!

Owns $14,000 AXSR with TT...uses 4 beat up sand bags instead of a bipod
