i have what I believe is a AIAW rifle in 300 win mag marked G22....has a serial number that starts with BWB 96 SM 34XX. Anyone have any idea what this is? Has a light green stock skins, consistent with German military and some military proof marks. I have no idea what exactly is.... thanks

Indeed, pictures. Certainly seems like a german military or police contract gun. I have a 4-16 s&b thats marked "g23" with yardage come-ups on the knob as well as the normal mil scale. I think I was told or read somewhere that its the scope that would go to your rifle.

In 1998, the German Bundeswehr adopted the first folding-stock Magnum version of the AW chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum (7.62×67mm) and with optics made by the German company Zeiss as the Scharfschützengewehr 22 (G22).
