Yeah, Buckey. Dave is working right now on a blend to better match the OD skins on the AX chassis. We've coated metal to get pretty close to those skins and already have a mix for the FDE/tan skins but the green has always been just a shade off. Dave is determined to nail it for this next one. I'll be sure to post pictures of that.

We built this for a friend of mine who wanted a handy, light-weight deer/hog slayer.

Specs are:
X-Treme Shooting Products Titanium action
Manners MCS-T stock
PTG bottom metal
Rock #5 fluted barrel finished at 16.25" (.308 caliber)
X-Treme single-stage trigger
Nightforce 2.5-10 in NF Ultralite rings

I just sent my Savage 10FP 5R-SR to have it cut to 18" and threaded to 5/8x24 for suppressor/sub use. We'll see how it comes out. Will be put back into its JP AMCS chassis. These guys are a few hours up the road from me...excited to see the end results. Maybe I'll send them some REAL work next time

BEFORE with 24" tube (I need to send the bolt off to have some work done as well)

Rifle turned out great. The reduction in OAL to the barrel has saved some weight an she's still a shooter. Thanks guys!

Very hectic couple of weeks. Sorry for laying low over here on the site. We'll have pics of recent stuff we'll be putting up over the next few days. But some updates...

We currently have in stock lots of Manners and McMillan stocks as well as barrels from Rock, Bartlein and Brux. We added Stiller actions to what we are stocking too. We're also supporting the awesome Mammoth Cave match again this year and are looking forward to seeing many of you at that match.

One teaser from recent build...

That is the new Whidden Composite Works Model 175 stock. We're testing this one out to 1500 yards this weekend when we're not in the shop. Dave and I will be working most of the weekend trying to catch up.

Working the weekend? Posting at 3:56am? Damn Mark you're taking away all my snappy comments about what an easy life you lead..oh wait, your time for that is running out in a few months!

I've had AO do three builds for me, two finished and the third done any day now (right Mark?). Quality is incredible and the attention to detail is tops too. Mark is great about answering questions, encouraging me to build a .50 next, taking my credit card number - you know, all the things a good friend should be.

Your surprise package is now showing to get to you Tuesday.

I almost hate to see this one go. Really a beautiful rifle.

That is a trued Remington, Badger lug, fluted bolt body, Badger mini-knob and Nightforce 20-MOA base. Brux 1:9 twist M24 barrel finished at 26" and chambered in .284 Win. Manners stock with APA bottom metal. Jewell trigger set to ~5oz. Glass is a Nightforce 8-32 with NP-R2 reticle with ZeroStops. I'm sure this rifle will make its way over to Hardrock.

Updated.. These guys stand by there work. My recent 284 win build, I sent Mark a couple of 100 yard group photos that were between .5 and .75. And Mark said if I could not get .25 to bring it back. I personally think it's me and not the rifle. But these guys stand behind there builds and are not happy until I/you are.

Turnaround time is going to depend on if they have everything they need to go start to finish once they get going on your build. And of course that depends on what you are providing them as well as what they are sourcing and providing for the build.

In my case two of my three builds were turned around very quickly, a few weeks or so, but in those two cases Mark & I coordinated everything so that they had all the bits and pieces when they started.

My third build has gotten hung up a bit because the barrel blank has gotten delayed a bit in shipping but even there I don't expect it to go much beyond a month or so from start to finish.

I really can't say enough about not only the quality of the end product but also about how great the communication is. Mark and the guys really want to make sure their customers are getting exactly what they want so be prepared to spend some time with them on the phone and via email going over every aspect of your build - you won't be disappointed.

Let us know how it goes with the load data we sent you. That is a proven load in a couple rifles we've built including a rifle that holds an F-Class record.

Average build time really depends on parts availability and, to a degree, similar tasks. We batch process some tasks (like truing Remington actions) to get more things out the door faster.

Now, here are some cool older NF rings you don't see too often anymore...

There are frustrating times in life when we deal with call centers in India, or get annoyed with someone at the local store. Then there are times we get great service and we feel good about a company. My experience with Accurate Ordnance far surpassed any expectations and hopes I could have asked for. Simply put they are OUTSTANDING. I had an idea for my 338LM and after chatting with Mark we had all the parts nailed down and ordered. We talked about a time line that would put the rifle in my hands before deer/ bear season and I was stoked. Some of the parts took longer than expected to get into his shop. It was looking like the gun would be completed when I was already gone for my trip, you could imagine my disappointment. Well Mark pulled some strings, the guys came in on a Sunday and at 4AM Monday so they could get it in the mail with enough time for me to do load development before my trip. The only bad part is now I want them to build all my guns because the accuracy and functionality of the rifle far surpasses all my other guns. My hat is of to the guys at Accurate Ordnance, simply put they are top notch.

New 223 from AO! I had some input on the color, but ultimately gave them creative license to do what they thought looked good.

Remington 700 action trued
27inch brux 1:8 with an AAC break
XLR chassis with custom blue cerakote.
badger this, nightforce that... B&T rail, the whole nine yards

This thing is a laser beam. I will post a range report soon, but on steel, I had a 10 shot group that looked better than I've ever had. I'll get it on paper soon, but I need a new scope mount. 20 MOA rail + 20 MOA mount was too much cant even bottomed out. I'll get a 0moa set of rings and be ready to go soon.

Really appreciate the kind words and the pictures, guys. You all mean a lot to us.

The last few months have been pretty crazy around here. I think Dave was wanting to keep things a little on the "under the radar" side but he and his wife welcomed a healthy baby boy back in June. Dave has had to adjust his work schedule a bit to accommodate daycare and family schedules. It changed our dynamic in the shop a bit but we've been learning to adjust and are very happy for his family.

On a similar note my wife gave birth to our first child two weeks ago today. Now the Accurate Ordnance team has a boy and a girl.

To help out around the shop we've got a good friend of ours joining the team on a (for now) part-time basis. We've been working with him to get up to speed on coating, bedding and some other tasks. The guy brings a lot to the table and we're excited about adding him to the team. We'll say more after the next few weeks when he is in a more active role. But he'll be a huge asset to us in getting things out faster at the same high quality our customers have come to expect.

I've not been on the site here much in the last few weeks because of some of these distractions. I hope to increase my involvement over the next few weeks.

Congratulations!! Now the fun really begins These are good times for you and your family, enjoy every minute when you can. I have been in your exact situation when starting a new company, time is always in short supply, but it always works out in the end.
Thanks again for your quick services in building my rifle in time for elk/deer season. I've only shot it a hand full of times and have not been able to work up a load for her, but she nailed everything, one shot dead in their tracks.

So the big brown truck showed up Tuesday with the third member of the AO builds joining the two already here.

Newest arrival is the OD green one in the back.

This one is a 6.5x47 Lapua built on a Stiller TAC30 AW action, Timney trigger, 24" fluted Rock Creek 1:8 barrel with APA Little Bastard brake. All sitting in an AICS 2 chassis with Viperskins. Scope is a Nightforce 3.5-15x50 MLR reticle sitting in USO rings, Atlas bipod. All the metal is MilSpec Green Cerakote which really matches up well with the Viperskin OD Green I think.
