So i just picked up a used ACOG and I have some questions. It has a pelican case wiht all the markings but it has a bible verse on it. Generally how old would this put it as the 'amber' optics are barely visable in low light and even in complete darkness.

on another note. I can only see the BDC markings in complete daylight. If its dark outside and I have the lights on indoors, I can barely see the recticle. In synthetic lighting, the reticle is slightly blurry and I cannot even make out the crosshairs. However if I add some distance between my eyes and the optic I can see the BDC and crosshairs But then I have a small field of view.

thanks for your help

Re: ACOG Ta01nsn help

Call trijicon, give them the SN and they will tell you if it is real, how old it is and who it was originally manufactured for. If it is damaged, they can repair it for a nominal fee.

Re: ACOG Ta01nsn help

I purchased a TA01NSN in the Fall of 2009 and it has the biblical inscription on it. None of the TA01NSNs I currently have in my stock have the inscription.
Regarding the illumination of the tritium; mine too is not the brights, but it works. In low light I can see that there is some illumination, however, I cannot make out individual lines until I am in complete darkness. This is also true for every TA01NSN I have ever used; including the models I used in the Army. Contacting Trijicon is a great idea! They should be able to verify the scope by its serial number.
