lost wages, nv (Vegas Baby :-)
as you can gather from my other posts I'm
doing my first precision rifle.

so what add on do I need. range finders, ballistics programs, and everything in between
to help build my kit ..

I only want to buy once so I don't need to sell
and re-buy but a budget is in place so I'll
piecemeal it :)

why you would suggest one thing over another would
help with my decision ..

thanks to all :)

Aside from the rifle and load, one of the biggest issues for some shooters is wind. Get a Kestral and learn how to use it. Work out wind calls based on range and wind speed & direction. The 7mm has a higher BC and can buck the wind pretty good, but it is still good to know how much to adjust.

Put together a log book, doesnt have to be very fancy, but something compact that you can throw in your range bag and wont blow away.

As for kit, get your rear bag, bipod, lens pen, torque driver and things you will need in the field.

Other than that, you may want to start loading or putting some ammo together. The darn shelves are pretty bare these days.

You don't need all of that stuff right away. I know the desire is there to buy a bunch of cool stuff, but until you've been shooting, and figuring out what you need personally, the potential is there to do exactly what you're trying to avoid.

Grab a log book, Impact, Storm, etc. are all good. Grab a bipod and a rear bag. Get a Borka so you can properly torque anything that needs to be torqued. Then, the only other thing you need is ammo. Shoot the hell out of that thing until you have all the fundamentals down. I found out that shooting a precision rifle is far different from shooting a carbine or even a hunting rifle.

Do this and then you'll know exactly what you need based on your individual requirements, not some list that a bunch of people on the internet say you need.

Get some ammo. Learn to read the wind without a freakin crutch and go shoot. Nobody learns to shoot first before whipping out the Kestrel and ballistic programs and all the other BS. Some of you guys just need to set up a vice and tie a string to the trigger to shoot the gun. You taking yourself out of the shooting anyway.

...I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.....

Place to shoot?
Stapler?
Targets?
Cleaning stuff?

Other than that, take it slow. THEN come see us at Triad

Ballistic programs can be had free or with $10 for a phone app. (JBM, Strelok App, Shooter App)

Ammo, training, data book, rear bag, shooting mat, a way to carry your gear. This is my phylosephy for learning. I'll get a kestrel when/if i ever need one.
