I dunno man, most civilians, let alone mothers (let alone other shooters), have no clue about weapons. IF she did call, it may have been just out of curiosity because of how it looked. Maybe she was only ever exposed to firearms such as bolt action hunting rifles and revolvers? That’s what (can be safely assumed) most people have encountered when not directly related or in proximity of someone who owns more “advanced/modern” (lol) firearms.

Hell, I can’t count how many times I showed people my bitch ass DPMS “AR”, I purchased back during the AWB, just to be asked if it was my issued rifle because “it looks like a military rifle. Hell, I even got asked that when was at the range with my M1A or A3G. For the most part, civilians have zero clue about firearms and base their views off of tv/movies.

I owned a bump stock, mostly as a joke as I only ever ran it on a M&P .22 rifle. Sure they were a dumb accessory and an overpriced piece of plastic, and in the back of my mind I figured they’d be banned eventually. My bitch is that my property was seized without compensation under threat of being a criminal if I didn’t comply. The bump stock is not important to me, but taking my property based on a bullshit decision to change a long standing definition of a machine gun is unacceptable. As others have stated, that decision will come back to haunt us under a different administration.

Is policing now so disconnected from society that an officer does not simply say “tell you what, I’ll stop by and chat and maybe I can give your son a few pointers on safety, storage and ranges?”

Guess the callers had more contact with the Popo in Mayberry? Hell, our dispatchers don't even talk to people that call, the call takers do, generate the call for service, that pops up on the dispatchers screen who then raises a car on the air to handle it.

That's assuming she really called at all, and if she did whoever answered didn't just answer whatever her 'question' was.
