Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes a suppressor adapter for the Surefire muzzle brake adapter that will allow the use of a non-Surefire suppressor?

Re: Adapter for Surefire muzzle brake adapter?

?? Makes sense to me I guess. Surefire has their muzzle brake adapter which will allow the quick attachment of their suppressor. I do not want to use the Surefire suppressor, but want to use another manufacturer's suppressor. My rifle came with the Surefire muzzle brake adapter already mounted - but not the Surefire suppressor. Basically I want to use a non-Surefire supressor I already own on my gun that has a Surefire muzzle brake on it. Make sense now?

Re: Adapter for Surefire muzzle brake adapter?

Okay, so who makes an adapter with the same inner diameter as the Surefire? I had thought the Surefire adapter necessitates machining down the muzzle end of the rifle to match the ID of the adapter. Is this not correct?

Surefire brake fits a Surefire can
AAC brake fits a AAC can
SAS brake fits a SAS can

Kinda how it works

If you want to take the brake OFF then you need to confirm what the thread they used and get a can ANY can with that thread.

Understand now?

Ya pretty much what Chill said. You cant put any other can on a Surefire adapter but a SF can. You COULD unscrew the break and use those threads for a different suppressor. But your barrel will be turned down quite a bit under that break.

Thanks - I understood the way it worked even before...

I was hoping someone knew of some adapter that would allow the use of another can.

It's not that I don't want to use a Surefire - it's just that I already have a can. Hoping I didn't need to buy another can just to fit the brake.

Seems like the answer here is to either reprofile the barrel or buy the surefire.

Re: Adapter for Surefire muzzle brake adapter?

no you are saying you want to put an adapter on an already existing adapter.... That is in so many words, stupid.

The more connections you have to make will end up leaving your weapon system at risk for failure.

Either take the SF adapter off and have it rethreaded (cheapest option)
Or you can buy the correct model SF can to match your adapter (its what I plan on doing when my Gladius shows up)

It does seems goofy the more I think about it - it may be better just to reprofile. I did want to keep the option of possibly getting a Surefire down the line though...
