Re: Adj Butt Plate McMillan A5
All In,
I was lucky, the HS stock has a hollow cavity in the butt of the stock. Therefore the Tubb buttplate went in without having to make room.
I pilot drilled the 2 screw hole locations before installing them.
The only other modification which I feel was required, after mounting the assembly I took an icepick and scribed a line around the buttstock where it and the buttplate mated and then removed the BP and sanded it down to match the profile of the stock.
The Tubb BP arrives oversized to allow it to be trimmed to fit your stock.
I did not shorten my factory HS stock, it think the instructions call for removing an inch or two from your stock prior to fitting. My length of pull is 17" so I just installed it as is.
Send me a PM if you need anything else.
Take care,
Chet
