Sidearms & Scatterguns advantage arms 22lr conversion for my glock

Re: advantage arms 22lr conversion for my glock

I love mine for my G19. They make a threaded barrel version, just hard to find. Cheap way to get trigger time on your Glock. You are not going to out duel a Ruger Mark III with it, but it's fun.

Re: advantage arms 22lr conversion for my glock

You can practice every aspect of pistol shooting through dry firing except recoil management. And you cannot practice recoil management with a 22 conversion kit.

I guess I get it, you want to plink targets and do it cheaper. I would consider bulk ammo purchase or buying a used progressive reloader and becoming a brass whore before I got a conversion kit. Reloading will roughly cut your ammo costs in half, once you have made the initial investment.

My G34 kit runs like a sowing machine. I shoot cci mini mags and have not had any issues.

the only thing I wish I could change is to buy the 15 rd mags and not the high caps (25 rds). if anybody wants to trade 15 rd mags for my 25 rd mags let me know.... Mine are literally brand new out of the wrapper.

What about failure to feed/malfunction drills??? otherwise I agree with your stance

You really have to induce malfunctions, so yes, best practice is on the range. Yet another strike against a conversion kit because clearing a 22 is a bit different than clearing a 9 or 40 or 45. Same principle, but tiny casing, no slide tension, etc.

But I do not want to bogart this thread.

agreed, but the muscle memory is there and when a person is faced with a dynamic situation, slide tension is not a concern if the mechanics are correct.

I have several of them. One for my G26, G20/21, 2 for my G23/G19, and 1 for my 1911. The one for the G19 is threaded. I get my stuff from Smitty at Team Glock. Good guy to deal with. Never had an issue with any of mine except with crap ammo. Usually run CCI 40gr or Remington subsonics for the suppressor. Great to train with, teach a newbie to shoot, and have fun. A lot cheaper than .40 ammo.

Re: advantage arms 22lr conversion for my glock

I just picked one up over at JABTAC for my G17. Going to take it out today. I also got one of the Tactical Solutions 15rd mags to see how it works. I added a feed ramp to the TS mag so it is like the factory AA 10rd mag. I've got a bunch of ammo to try so we'll see what works and doesn't. From what I've read the recommended ammo from AA is pretty spot on, but I like to verify data on my own.

Re: advantage arms 22lr conversion for my glock

I bought mine from jabtac as well (fast shipping). I'm interested to hear how your 15 rd mag works.

keep us updated if you could

Re: advantage arms 22lr conversion for my glock

I love my Advantage Arms conversion for 19/23. I shoot the shit out of it and haven't had any issues. The one thing I will say is that you need to stick with the ammo recommended by the company. Stray beyond that and you may not get reliable functioning. I use the 22LR setup to teach my wife how shoot my Glock, and it's what really gets her out to the range with me. I'm a big fan, and I've got a threaded barrel on the way.

Re: advantage arms 22lr conversion for my glock

Forgot to add that the 25rd mags for my G19 are a must have. They make shooting the .22 kit a lot of fun.

if you got any 10 or 15 round AA mags I got 3 brand new out of the wrapper 25 rd that I'd trade....
