Rifle Scopes Advice on chooseing a rangefinder

Re: Advice on chooseing a rangefinder

I think your only option with the ARC is Bushnell. They dont even make the Elite 1500 anymore though. I think I have read out to 1300 with mine. I know the Swaro is the best, but I dont think it has the ARC feature. The Swaro will range to over 2000. I actually had better success ranging withe the Bushnell than the Leica CRF 1200, but the 1200 has clearer glass. There are like 5 or 6 threads recently discussing all this.

If you can spring an extra hundred or so, it will take you into top quality rangefinder like the Zeiss 8x26 Victory T* PRF. I think a lot of folks will agree that a rangefinder like this will last you a lot longer and you won't ever need to upgrade. Or a quality used Leica or Swaro at a good price would also fit your needs.

Re: Advice on chooseing a rangefinder

I have the bushnell Elite with the Arc and have ranged out to 1281 yards in bright sun in the desert, but have found that I want a range finder that can reach out further,at least to a mile. Depending on the caliber you are shooting and your needs, you may want to consider spending the extra cash now instead of later and get the Swarovski range finder. I am now saving up for this, but for now I am pleased with the performance of the Bushnell Elite.

Re: Advice on chooseing a rangefinder

+1 on the Bushnell 1500. I have had one for 2 years and it has not let me down yet. Yes, they are no longer in production, but you should be able to find plenty out there for decent prices.

As for the Leica goes I can not speak for their rangefinders. However I bought a camera from them a few years back and it has been nothing but great. I don't know if that helps, but there you go.

Re: Advice on chooseing a rangefinder

thanks for all the great info!
I have a bush. 1000 right now. It's a good RF but, I need more range+ ARC.
The bush. 1500 looks to be the one most posted.
But, does anyone have or used the Leoupold with ARC?

Re: Advice on chooseing a rangefinder

The bushnell I was playing with would not range a cow at approximately 900 yards, but did range a silo at 1200 yards; the leica 1200 did range the cow. I am going to buy a leica. YMMV

Good luck

Sniper-2

I have the Bushnell Legend 1200 w/ARC. I love mine. I have ranged cows & horses out to 878. I gotten brush piles at 1197. I couldn't be happier with mine and got it on Amazon for $267.00. Are there better, sure there are, but you'll pay for it as well, just like anything else. For me, the Bushnell has been great.
