Scalarworks is great.

it's hard to fathom the wheel lock on scalarworks exerts as much pressure to hold the mount to a pic rail as what the lever on an adm mount does.
and from experience i'd not rate them as QD, more like tool less. semantics but worth mentioning.
sold mine and went to a reptilia and cut down and stashed an allen wrench in the grip storage if needed

I will second this. I have a Bobro optic mount and quit a few other Bobro mounts for lights that are second to none. They make good stuff.
ADM or Bobro
have abused and seen both abused in some very harsh conditions and they hold true. Spending more then the ADM/Bobro mark with their reputation and proven performance standing out is beyond foolish imho

Bobro hasn’t let me down yet as far as RTZ…I have snagged a jacket sleeve pretty good on the lever though. Considered checking out Scalerworks but damn they’re proud of those.
Well... as it happens I went with the Bobro -- it puts the scope at the right height for me and was available. Thanks everyone for the guidance, really appreciate it.
Lol. You don't need to spend 400 for a quality mount. Law of diminishing returns. No question they are solid but overkill and way overpriced. Bobro and adm have proven track records. You simply cannot say spuhr and gdi are better when its results that matter
If you grease the lug, and don't torque the snot out of it, there will be no damage.
I don't like Larue for much else but, I have been using their mounts for a long time. None better IMO.
Also, as it turns out, I have never had a need for a QD mount. Keep in mind that I am not a belly crawling, snake eating, SOCOM killer who's rifle doubles as a jack handle. I am just a regular Joe that hunts, competes, sports shoots, and a home defense user.
So, the only QD I have is on my bipod and weapons light. For a scope mount, the last 3 I have bought have been Spuhr Mounts. Again, none better in my opinion. If you carry a Fix-It Stix in your kit (highly recommend) you also now have a QD mount.
To the OP: Not to hijack your thread but, how do you like your Razor Gen III 1x10? I just put one on my recently completed LMT MWS 7.62. First range trip will be this week.
Here is the thing, Springs in any mounts are a bad thing. Especially bad if it is in the locking mechanism. Do either of those have a spring in the locking mechanism?
I know that ADM and Bobro have Springs in the QD mechanism. That is why I will not use them.
Personally, I would get a Reptilia Corp ( they will be also coming out with 1.700" and 1.930" height mounts in around 6 months), Badger Ordnance, Geissele, Spuhr, Nightforce Unimount or Scalarworks mount and run a 12:00 or offset closed emitter red dot or run offset iron sights. You could use regular rail mounted back up sights and carry a small tool for removing the scope if need be. QD scope mounts have kind of fallen out of favor in the last five years or so, especially in the military. That's called a clue.

Happen to own, or have owned, the majority of the mounts talked about in this thread. While not a snake eater, I have stayed at a Holiday Inn before and thus channel my inner Rambo. Results/experiences don’t lie, my results,for me. QD, and for that mater non QD, I’d take, do take, all the mounts listed except Larue. Just my opinion based on my results/experiences.

I have owned all of those mounts named, plus a few more. I only used the LaRue mounts on my Short Dot and Eotech for the 14 years that I deployed for GTOW. I switched between the Short Dot and the Eotech depending on what I was doing. Never had a zero loss and never had any issues. That is what I am basing my statements on.
Not the OP but I have been using mine on my Noveske 16 inch 308 for almost two years now. Love it. I have had it out to 600 yards with no issues.

Just because some supply guy gets it does not mean that it is the best. Kind of like USASOC has the Sig Tango in use now. I wouldn't waste my money on one of those.
Most people do mot need a QD mount. That is true. But those that actually use this stuff for it's intended purpose do need it.
We have a member here that knows the advantages of a QD mount when your optic gets shot and you can't use it. @M4guru

Centurion imho, is vastly underrated given how freaking accurate and well made their rifles are. They are absolute lasers
I can't wait to confirm your assessment of their barrels. I pulled the trigger on a mk12 barrel from Monty over the weekend. In the process of putting together a mod 1 clone(ish) and will now patiently wait for them to deliver the barrel.
I've seen plenty of accuracy reports on arfcom and various other places. report back and let us know as my med contour 16" is hitting .7-.8 with 77gr smk
Just as an FYI the Scalarworks is not really a qd mount. It is more of a toolless mount. The way it is designed the knobs can sometimes be a bitch but the main issue is, you have to go back and forth between the knobs so you dont apply too much force to one side locking it up (unclear to me why the didnt separate this in the design). I found that it was not really possible to do that under stress in training when trying to ditch an optic let alone real world.
If you are looking to quickly ditch the optic and go to irons I would not recommend the Scalarworks. If you are looking for a super lightweight, extremely durable, toolless mount the Scalarworks is for you.
I think if you need to quickly ditch an optic Larue is the best option. ADM and Bobro are also excellent but what @Docsherm has mentioned about the springs is a downside to the design.
